There is undoubtedly a thread on hotels, but note that TST (Tsim Sha Tsui) is very central - bottom end of Kowloon peninsula - and well served by rapid transit (MTR). Anywhere you stay is likely to be a few minutes walk from a station (I'd check on the map before booking!) and the stations are quite close together. In any case, the central Kowloon corridor (TST up through Monkok and beyond) has many punting options, as does the  north side of HK Island. My last trip I was in Hung Hom, which I initially thought was a bit out of the way, but it was one stop from TST and a few stops (and one change in line) to CWB (Causeway Bay).  Read a few of the reviews and find them on the map to get an idea of the layout. HK is much more compact and easy to navigate than Bangkok, for example.
