I would not advise going to the station unless you have lots of time on your hands. They will make up evidence inorder to force a conviction so they will sometimes make you admit you had a session will a gal.

If you have not done anything illegal you have the right not to provide a statement or be a witness. But they have the right to ask for your ID and contact address. However, you should establish the undercover cop's identity before submitting your details to them. Most people would not be able to distinguish an undercover or policeman's real ID badge from a fake one so the best thing to do is to call 999 to clarify that the badge details are valid. But remember this will really, really, really pissed off the officer.
