Living in one of the 141 buidings

Does any bros here lived or are living in one of the 141 buildings? My friend wants to spend a couple months here in HK and is comtemplating living in these apartments as a convenient option in mongering.  Any thoughts?

Your friend can book a guesthouse room in one of the composite buildings in TST, Jordan or YMT.

He'll have the time of his life

You know how much the rents are in Fuji building ?
based on the SF area it costs more there then renting a flat on the peak !

tell him to find a place near the walk up places but not in that building !!!

Thanks..while crusing the building, I do see the few floors which appears to be residential...I wonder if they are renting for "market rate"

Fuji is 80% 141, so I wouldn't consider living there unless I didn't mind the stares when you leave the building and the brothers ringing the bell.

When I lived in YMT i even had a bro ring my bell. I didn't even have Christmas tree lights around the door.

There are a few buildings in Jordan with guesthouses and WGs on every floor. Also walking distance from TST hotel girls.

I wouldn't bother renting Fuji

I stayed in a guest houses in several buildings.  The latest time I was in the Fuk Yu, (or something that sounded real like that) (the building no longer is listed on this site) and they had girls on several floors of the building but not on the guest house floor.  The guest house is on the 6th floor so I'd walk down and see what was going on, and I banged a few chicks. In a small building I would have never noticed it, although twice real good looking girls were coming out of the elevator as I was going up.

Bah why doesn't he do what everybody else does and live in the Chungking or Mirador mansions and walk over to James S Lee, Hankow apartments, observatory road comfort building etc..

In HK everything is close by , not like in Europe where you have to drive everywhere.

Richard Mason apparently did this in the 1950s which inspired him to write the world of Suzie Wong, (that was in Wan Chai in the Nam Kok which no longer exists).

Life is short very...

I couldn't be bothered with bros running up and down stairs all day and night long just to be clsoe to a group of WG's.  Rent a place nearby and keep your sanity!

If he is going to stay in Champagne Court he is not going to be in any shape for his job interviews. Whether he will be able to get to the interviews at all will also be a problem.

If u want to be discreet, New Lucky Building in Jordan has a number of legit guest-houses.

I stayed there for several months waaay back in an earlier Dynasty - the place was recommended in Lonely Planet and I negotiated a long-term rate - it was actually quite a bit cheaper than renting a flat.

Has the added advantage it's 3 paces from the MTR so you can go air-con all the way to your interview or meeting.

but I did get some funny looks waiting in the lift lobby occasionally ...

thanks..I actually gave the same suggestions to my friendm but he prefers the convenience of getting laid without even leaving the building.  Besides what if he picked up some chic at a club and wants to bring her home?  I will try to talk him out of it.

Has your mate seen the conditions of Fuji?
The conditions at Champs is not too bad. But Fuji looks really terrible to live in.

Just curious. Won't your friend have to supply a Hong Kong address to his prospective employers while he's here. Imagine the interviewer thinking: Hey, isn't that address next door to Fei Fei of Fuji? I'm sure that if the interviewer is a male there is more than an even chance he is a 141 fan.
