Has anyone ever tried the Sauna at the Regency Hotel in Shantou?  I have stayed there a couple of times and know they have a Sauna with massage but do not know if:

1)  It is full service massage?
2)  The selection is any good?
3)  What kind of price?

I will be going tomorrow and staying for 3 days so I will report back, but, was hoping to avoid a total surprise if any bros can give me the 411.

If anyone has any other recommendations for that area, I would love to try a few things.

I have stayed there since the opening with exception to a few times at the Meritus
and in the earlier stages, I've had a few tries at the sauna there. Yes, it is full service
but it is your typical hotel sauna. I believe last time I payed $700 for the massage and
then there was an "option" of additional $3,4,500 RMB for the three updrades of
service. It's been awhile, but seems the experience doesn't stand out so at least
it was in the 50th percentile. My staff in here in HK always freaks me out by telling
me how dangerous it is for a lone gwailo to be walking the streets of Shantou so
my options have been limited. A few years ago, a friend turned me on to a great
sauna that is just down the street from the Regency. I will have to try to find the
card but - if you are looking at the front of the hotel, you would go down the street
that intersects the right side of the Regency about a mile or so and on the right
side you will see these giant verticle Chinese neon letters on the side of the sauna
building. I know that describes a million places but there is only one prominant one
at about a mile on the right side. Again, I will attempt to get you the address
as soon as I find the card. Always good, unrushed service, full sauna experience
with full service around $500-$700 RMB with tip.

Well I just tried the Sauna here last night and have the follow to report:

The sauna itself is fabulous.  I got a private room @ $450 RMB and it has a full living room with couch, love seat, Big screen TV and coffee Table.  Then you go into a second room that has a massage table and a massage bed.  The best part, off from that room is the bath room that is practically as big as the bed room with its own sauna, steam room and huge walk in shower.

The guy comes right in and asks striaght up, "Do you want massage or sex".  As I had hurt my back earlier I told him that I really wanted both.  So he tells me that just massage is $100 RMB tip but sex massage is $600 more, on top of the room fee.  I was like, "WHAT".  100 to 600 is a big gap in this industry.  I told him for $600 the girl better be knock out gorgeous, he assured me he had many beautiful woman which I doubted seriously.

So he says, "I be right back with a beautiful girl for you."  He brings in, not an ugly lady but like my brothers wife or something.  I told him, discreetly, "She is not beautiful", and he replied, "yes but she gives good service".  It went down hill from there.   I had a lot of very very average to ugly girls paraded into my gorgeous room.    Finally I told him, "I am not going to pay an extra $600 for any of these women you have here".  To which he replied, "Yes, they are not so good looking but we have ONE girl who is very beautiful but she is only for sex, no massage.  I asked how much, "an extra $800 for her", he replied.  I said, "I will have a normal massage".  My back was killing me and I was tired of playing this stupid game of him trying to wait me out and increase the price because he thought he could play off my stiffness.  But the fact was, I didn't really care, I just wanted to check the place out so I did not even ask to she there, "One and only sex girl"!!!!!!!!!!!!!  God, can you imagine the miles on that.  Wonder if she has a frequent flyer program?

Sauna was great, the $100 massage was very good, not fantastic but good.

Total Damage, $5500 RMB

Oh, almost forgot to mention, you can just order the massage girls up to your room instead of paying for a room down there but you will still face the same problem if you are looking for anything more then sex with a woman you don't need to brown bag.

Oh, and coming back to the hotel last night there was a definatly working girl taking the elevator up with me.     My gd she was hot but I have no idea how to find a call service here.
