Alert: Lots of coppers

Finally back in HK, went to New Lucky House in Jordan to see TingTing, after i left the room, i walked towards the elevator, 2 coppers were doing their rounds, they walked towards me while i was waiting for the elevator, 1 cop wanted to check my ID, then suddenly his partner said to him: Carry on. So they walked away. Lucky me. But yesterday i was in Central, 2 coppers (PTU) checked my ID, bag and asked lots of questions on the street around 1 pm. Man so annoying. I noticed there are lots of coppers on the street and buildings this week, they have a big search or something?

Not that I know off ... maybe for certain areas but no major events on the news.

Do you look or appear any different then before you left ?

Just remember if you do get stopped you are required to show your ID but
if they want to search you, you have the right to ask for a more senior officer
to be present or go to the police station (not that you'd want to).

Well ... not a full body search in public ...     but search your pockets / bag / anything
you're carrying if they feel its necessary.

Actually some of the newer police women are starting to look better these days !
She might even ask you if that' s a gun you're carrying in your pocket or just glad to see her ..............

It's holiday season.  Crime (pickpockets, shoplifting, breaking into homes/apartments, etc.) goes up from now through Chinese New Years.  They always increase survellance at this time, but with the territory so full of tourists due to the booming Asian economies, maybe they are being more vigilant/assertive than in the past.  IMO, this not a bad thing.....  Visiting 141's not illegal here, neither is being a 141.  What is illegal is overstaying a visa, working without a permit, stealing....

Haha, no lah, i just look thinner and have a new haircut

Yesterday I walked around Champagne court A and B, damn almost all girls busy, so no 141, and some coppers were doing their rounds and a whole bunch of PTU were walking on Kimberley Road, I dont feel so safe anymore here, hehe...i know 141 is not illegal, but if they ask me questions and searching me I dont feel comfortable. However, the cops are very well mannered, very polite. Compared to Europe, Europe is so rough.

If they are bad mannered, and you know you are in the right then
ask him for his warrent card number. He would be more worried
about getting a complaint considering it's a small matter.
If its a serious matter don't do what I just said, you may find yourself in a deeper hole !
I must say the cops are much more well mannered now then say before the handover.

Tried it on a plain clothes cop. It pissed him off that he started to get rough and wanted to body search me.
