Imagine I come to HK to fuck then I die of flue instead. Wouldn't that be funny

How are we supposed to advise you bro? I mean, suppose we say ... come, come to HK, everthing is fine. And then you
catch the flu and die.    How would that make us feel?    OTOH, if it was as bad as you seem to think,
wouldn't there be a mass exodus of people from HK, all trying to escape the dreaded flu. Well. bro, nobody is leaving - it's
just the usual over-reaction from those in authority that we always seem to get in HK. I think it's called .... covering your
ass.     So, come to HK - everything is fine.

Two questions:

Is there a problem with the flu here in HK? - I mean beyond what's the seasonal norm.

Can one catch the flu via DATY?

I think its the over reaction of the press rather the the government ... and when they do finally act they get
slammed for reacting too slowly !

gliderr - this may or may not be the start of a world wide flue outbreak (maybe it already started in Australia few
months ago) people are so mobile these days you're not going to be able to hide from it - anywhere !
Like our government tells us, wash your hands every 3 hours and don't rub your face !

on your DATY question - I'm just imagining ... if the girl doesn't have good personel hygiene and the last
person doing DATY on her leaves some snot there, then its entirely possible that transmission of the virus
is possible

I think closing all Primary Schools is a little extreme, to say the least.

Actually, I'm in favour of closing the primary schools and kindergartens and from the radio talk shows
I think the general public aslo supports this. Parents were apprehensive about sending ther children
to school and closing them 3 days earlier then expected can calm this.

Many years ago when the government killed thousands of chickens in HK I thought at that time it was
extreme but understanding a little more about H5N1 made thing clearer.

In these types of situations there are no rights or wrongs, if the goverment acts too fast and
there's no flue outbreak then they'd be criticized, if they don't act quickly and there is an outbreak
then the situation is worse. Experts been saying over the last few years a flu epidemic is just waiting to happen.
Is it going to be this year ?

Kids are walking disease vectors, little dirt bags on legs. Families with young kids are usually the first to come down with whatever's going round.

Don't they all get a flu vaccine shot at the start of the Winter? Give 'em porridge every morning - that's what I had when
I was a kid and I never got sick. Now, they get a little sniffle and they're in the hospital emergency room. And for what?
There's no cure anyway. Just go to bed and sweat it out. Right as rain in a couple of days. Too many baths, that's part
of the problem - reduces the immune system. A little dirt never hurt anybody. All these squeaky clean kids - no wonder
they're always sick.

I am still laughing to some of the responses. You guys are a bunch of fun group.
I think I will come to HK and then I will come as well.

Jack:
Thank you for being concern about my well being . I am hoping not to die but if I do, please dedicate your next adventure to me.
Marsupial:
As to you question about DATY. If I was a virus living inside a cute girl why would I want to leave.
Swan:
I like your Ninja fantasy. I might just try that

Last time I was in HK I went to a bar in WanChai. It was a Sunday around 2pm. It was filled with babysitters from other countries. I guess I should stay away from that place this time around.

Here are the facts as of this am:

sadly 4 young childern have passed....
2 are confirmed to have had flu, 2 are not (?yet) confirmed
3 were at the same public hospital--Tuen Mun (mighty suspicious imo)
2 or 3 at the Tuen Mun hospital were sent home, then they got real sick..... (also mighty suspicious imo)
at least 1 who been sent home had other complications (Reyes syndrome--this can come from giving young childern aspirin {a big no no}--could she have been given this as treatment?)

There is hard science behind Jake's tough love approach to raising kids. It's been found that children raised in homes that are too sterile are more apt to develop asthma and allergies - something about the immune system not being sufficiently challenged at an early age.

It's just that the grubby little things run around smearing snot all over each other at school and then bring home the germs to mom and dad.

To answer my own question - No. Seems that the existing government immunisation programme only includes children 6 to 23 months old. The government now
says it's 'considering' spending HK$100M to vaccinate a million children anged 11 and below next winter. HK$100M is peanuts to this government. They just abolished
all taxes on wine and beer at a cost of billions but they're 'considering immunization' .....  The WHO recommends vaccinating all childeren under 12.

Friday's SCMP headline - 'No sign of deadly flu attack: experts'

Latest news from the panel of experts investigating the flu outbreak. Get this  .... "in fact the outbreak situation in Hong Kong is rather moderate when compared with
previous years ...." Also ... "while 2 of children who died had flu, they had other medical complications that contributed to their deaths." Get this one from the government
... "the late-night decision to close the schools was not based on medical findings ..." So, what was it based on? Now families are in chaos trying to take care of their kids.
One school, to it's credit [Canadian International School], has ignored the government ban and stayed open.

Our government is run by a bunch of amateurs who just stumble from one crisis to the next.

Part of these shenanigans is the gov't department playing games to see who has more shit at their door and see who's gonna act first.  It wasn't the Educ. Dep's decision but the Health Dep who ordered it.  Hospitals were flooding with people near crisis level, CHP didn't know what it was at the time.  So they acted first to cover their asses.
