Being romantic is a must...
...well, at least in the US it is. It's the best time to butter up the SO, hide all the suspicions, and make amends for whatever us stupid men do that needs amending, if that makes any sense. My plans are easy, since it's the weekend, my kids will be at my parents house for the New Year's Eve dinner and sleepover so we will have the day to ourselves on Sunday. I already bought my wife a semi expensive diamond bangle bracelet that she has been eyeing for over a year. Always asked the prices at all the stores on Canal Street (NYC Jewelry District) and was quoted anywhere from 1200-3000 USD for the same exact bracelet (for some odd reason, they all carry the same shit). Went up to my uncle's and described it to him, he showed me 20 of them in his showroom, same exact shit. He said his cost was 500, and it would be my cost. Damn these fuckers make a lot of money off V day. Planning to buy my roses from Costco (fucking nicer than anyone else's in NYC) for 15 bucks a dozen compared to 50-100 anywhere else. Drive down to Atlantic City, take in a small afternoon show, dinner in Cape May and back before midnight.
I always have my V day plans set up, it's really hard to work around so many kids but we still manage. Nothing wrong with being romantic with the SO, even if you are a hardcore mongerer. Like my Dad says, "it's OK to fuck around, it's what we men do, just remember, NEVER take that shit home with you"
