I was just at a party a few days ago at a karaoke bar which was in a very nice hotel, The Emperor Hotel in Happy Valley and it was all fun, until my friend asked to bring the girls in. I have been to a few karaoke places for parties but never had the girls come in or had someone ask, I've seen these in movies before, they come in, play drinking games, etc, your companion for the night as it is. The girl I had was great fun and she had a great degree of english so that was very helpful. Eventually it was getting late and I had to get home as I had something to do the next morning and she gave me her number. Now, being drunk that night I called her after I got home to meet up next week with my cell phone.

Now I have some question and concerns about this. I heard that a lot of these are owned by triads or pimps that use these girls to scam you. Things such as paying the girl to see you since they are not making money, or if you stop seeing them you have to pay a "break up fee", all these sort of things that ruin your money. Some of my friends say I am crazy, some say give it a shot. Sure I know I am making a big generalization, but what are the chances of them just being nice? Pretty low I imagine. So would I just not see this girl? Are these concerns true and do these things happen a lot?

The break up fee is called "Deng Bo Fai"  literally (throw pot fee), ... but to the point, you sir watch too many movies.

Never heard of a break up fee before.  Sounds interesting, but then again I don't watch many chinese movies.
Anybody see any news stories about it?

Like any high-end rental or purchase, I suggest perhaps you get all the facts up front from the girl.

However, as the other fellas mentioned, I don't think they it's typical for HK.

And Random1, how would you ask the girl straight off? It would seem very awkward to ask "Do I have to pay to see you?"

Before you/we continue, perhaps you should fill us in on more facts. Who is she and what does she do in the KTV? Is she a WG (小姐) working in the KTV? Well, if she is a WG who works in that KTV, I am very sure she is being compensated at the end of the KTV session, meaning you must have tipped her or maybe, your Clients had done so without your knowledge. The tips is about HKD500.00 for sitting with you, BTW.

Well I dont know. She came in with a bunch of other girls and someone picked her out for me. I dont know if she is a WG either, but the karaoke thing was inside a nice hotel. But at the end, I think my friend did give her a tip before I left. So would this be a no-no then?

OMG! Sounds like you have not been to a KTV. YES! My friend, she is definately a WG (Working Girl) working in that KTV you visited. If you weren't that drunk, you could have gotten her for overnight in your hotel room for maybe 2-3K HKD.

The only reason that I can think of, she giving you her contact, is to call her the next time you are visiting the same KTV again. It is sometimes call 'Net Casting'. Let me explain, she gives out her contacts to all men she meets in the KTV hoping you will be her regular Customer and perhaps the relationship will develope into something more. Just a business transaction.

In a nutshell, you pay her for her time, she drink and play drinking games with you, if you are horny, you pay more and get to screw her. It is that simple. On the other hand, some WG don't go out or to bed with Customers.

I've read some bad posts of people getting scammed going out with a WG.
But I can surmise just dont give out money.

What you have been asking is very vague but complicated at the same time. All meetings with a certain WG is different and has it's unique occurence. Let's say you call her for lunch or tea, assuming she is willing to see you. So, in this case, I am sure as a Gentleman, you should pay for the food and drinks, right? And maybe some transportation cost. However, this is all you should pay for unless you and her check-into a love for Men's Business.

But, when in the KTV, you picked her from a line-up of several to many WG's. End of the session, you have to pay her the standard rate of tips or more if you choose to. Anything else, it is the negotiation between you and her.

And yup, I do recall now, after the session at the KTV my friend did pay, dont know how much, but it was in a nice hotel karaoke bar.

Yea that makes sense and sorry for being vague. I've read up on some of the other threads about having dilemma's with dating a WG and going out with them. I'll just have to see when I meet her which one she is, the gold digger ones with the sad stories or the nicer ones. I assume with buying gifts or if we do go shopping, I should set myself a limit or tell her straight off no name brands?

1) The answer is, yes you should go for it if she gave you her number.

2) At the end of it, in my opinion, you should pay even if she doesn't ask.

3) Also, not sure if the hotel name should be left in the post.

4) And, this place is definitely more than $500 for sitting. It is $1000 for sitting, but if over 4 hours then $1500. Cannot remember takeout costs.

Edit to add: Bro WKK makes some good points in the post below about figuring out what you are trying to get out of all of this. She is a WG, and that is why I always follow point #2 above.

What is it that you want from her?
What good can come from this friendship or relationship?

2) There must not or should not be any more contacts other that in their professional capacity. You call them and them do not call you. And you only call them for a PAID FCUK. No emotions involved.
3) Whores are for fcuking and to ease our sexual urge, it is that simple. Whores are not for marrying or for loving. They are not dinner dates or friends you exchanges conversation or SMS or to confide in or to have friendly chit chat. Just fcuk, pay and leave.

If you are UNABLE to follow these rules of engagement, I suggest you do not come here or have any contacts with professional sex providers AKA WHORES.

i had this exact same situation a while ago. nothing much happened
the girl just wanted some extra money. but i doubt the girl youre talking about would be trouble. cuz first you met her at a rather nice hotel and not one of those shaddy clubs.
