#22 Post at 13-9-2008 15:30  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #21 nipper's post I'd never heard of Entourage, so being the inquisitive, thrill-seeking guy I am, and looking forward to something as wickedly funny as Californication, I spun up the old UTorrent and d-loaded an episode (S05E01). It's not bad, but not in the same league - too hammy, too obvious, and not enough traction. Comes up short on the dramatic level, in that the characters are cardboard cutouts, stereotypes exaggerated for laughs (I mean, do you really care about these guys); and fails on the humor level because the dialogue isn't wittily, cynical-adult enough, it doesn't draw blood. But tho there are similarities in that both deal with Hollywood, it's a different kind of humor - tho perhaps it wasn't fair jumping into the series in season 5. 孔子曰： 君子不羞于舔屄也

Like Californication it has the same witty writing, but it carries a different style. Still very enjoyable, and always good to recommend. You should also check out Life, that was a new series that was really good.

Funniest episode I remember was when Drama was sharing a scene with Brooke Shields, playing herself. They were acting as brother a sister and shared a platonic hug. Brooke then went to the Director and had Drama fired because he had an erection.    I could certainly relate to that.   Live Life With Passion
