well i am let the punishment fit the crime!  also use it as a deterrent.  show the video at the police academy.  cops are suppose to protect the public and regarded as someone with trust in the public eye, like doctors and judges.  like others have mentioned...this incident definitely tarnishes HK's police force.

I suppose there are different levels of cops, some good and some not.

I remember being in Times Square (NY, not Causeway Bay) about 14 years ago and watching  cops harass a drunk panhandler, who was really sitting around not bothering anyone. The only difference socially and culturally between the two was that the cops had a uniform and the panhandler had old clothes. This may be an extreme case, however.

i am not for violence, whether it be a gang vs 1 cop or 3 cops vs 1 cilivian or 10 LAPD vs Rodney King.  the police have to do their job, but in those videos, it is called using excessive force.  in the UK vid, the 3 policemen already pinned down him down, no need for the punches or face-grinding.
