#21 Post at 2-7-2009 03:45  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L yea i think most of the people who really look forward to the movie are the older crowds... those that grew up with it. along with mask and hell smurfs if they ever make a movie of it... haha... would be a big orgy with only one smurfette. but yea i thot the movie was arite... not really as good as the first one... but maybe everyones expectations got too high... i see the same thing coming for iron man 2... everybody thinks its gon be the freakin bomb and then suddenly its just ok.

It was also pretty racist (which i found funny) when they had the two "black" cars. You cant compare Up and Transformers 2. I feel Up has real meaning to it, a "real" lesson to be learned. Transformers is just TITS, ACTION, EXPLOSION!

In fact, I'd put it right up there with Citizen Kane and Persona. Certainly Kubrick, Bergman, Hitchcock, Fellini,and Kurosawa never did anything on this scale. The character development was superb, the plot subtle and surprising. The relationship between the sentient machines and the human protagonists illustrated universal themes of love and tragedy rarely addressed in Hollywood films. Obviously the director was able to convince the money guys to put aside all concern for profit and, for once, create a no-compromise quality film. Hopefully, we'll see more of this now that Transformers has shown that profit and art are not incompatible. So what do you think - Oscar for best film? 孔子曰： 君子不羞于舔屄也

#25 Post at 2-7-2009 22:35  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L i think it makes perfect sense that we appreciate transformers 2 as much as we do. rather than having to go through detailed character/ unpredictable plot development of relationships, punters pay to get their socks rocked off in the most time/cost efficient way possible in a manner that's closest to the real thing. likewise, i payed 60 bucks to get 2.5 hours of entertainment in the form of action, porn (almost), and comedy. although the experience was relatively shallow and much less enlightening, i still had a damn good time.
