I visited this cafe for the first time last week.  This is the absolute best mongering scene in Asia.

If you search "Thermae Cafe Bangkok", you'll see secret videos taken inside.  Here's a good example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_Eb0jm1yD8.  If you look at this video, you'd see the quality of ladies is quite high and it's a fair depiction of what's inside.

Here's how it works...

- Guys must buy one drink to get in (B80 to B200).  Immediately after you enter, you'll be ushered to an ordering area.
- Ladies (sex providers) must pay B50 to get in.  They get a ticket for re-entry in case they get a short-time customer and want to return later.
- Men are to walk a circular path in the cafe lined by 150-200 ladies (typical night).  Vast majority of ladies are standing although some are seated.  
- There's usually 30-70 men at any given time.  Women far outnumber men.
- Men can stay all night if they want.   No requirement to buy more drinks.  There's a small sitting area.
- No stupid loud music.  In fact, no music at all.  Perfect for chatting with the ladies.
- Women get their IDs checked (not men).  No ladyboys are allowed and ladies must be at least 20 years old.
- Ladies are not allowed to approach men.  Must stand stationary.  But some ladies (maybe 10-20%) would smile, wave or speak to you as you walk past.
- Expect some rejections.  It's up to the lady if she wants to go with you although most will.  It's all about the money.
- Most mongers are Asian (perhaps 90%) but it's cool if you're not.
- You negotiate with the girl on services.  The cafe is not involved.  No bar fines.
- The majority of ladies are clearly non-pros.  They look like normal Thai women there for pocket money.  Some are shy which is why many won't make eye contact or wave.  Some are dressed rather conservatively.
- It's been said end of month is the best time to go because the ladies need rent money.
- A sign warns you'll be charged B5000 if caught taking video inside.  You'll probably get your ass kicked by security.
- B20 to use the toilet.  That's the only bullshit thing about the cafe.
- Outside the cafe, you'll find ladyboys (who aren't allowed in) and some ladies who for whatever reason don't want to be inside.

Can't say I agree 100%, furryfriend, although the place has specific advantages.

Having opened in 1968, the Thermae exemplifies old-school Bangkok mongering. Back then US military and civilian personnel in the region frequented the place. Nowadays it's popular with tourists from Japan and Korea.

You see what your date looks like prior to booking an appointment, which is a plus. I've heard that service levels vary, and ST is 3K nowadays. The last time I made an assignation at the Thermae, it was 1000. I had so much fun with her I went back the next night and booked her again.

Most women give mechanical sex, they always come with you a mindset of quickly going back to Cafe for another customer

You can now ask me - why not pick them at end of cafe time? They would be in rush to home esp after a long tiring day (Remember not all of them are regulars, they have a core job)

For the same money - I get a decent massage plus sex 60 minutes in BKK, Pattaya is cheaper

ofcourse women are good looking, but what is the point if service is bad!

If the woman is hot, the service usually sucks.  That's true whether at Thermae Café, the bars or on the streets.  Better to go for 7s instead or those who seem to want to go with you.

And Sukhumvit was so open and full of energy before the train system was built (of course, traffic and floods were hell). I don't have a photo, unfortunately, but my first Sukhumvit bar memory from that time was just next to Thermae. There was a Thai band called "The Drinks" playing cover tunes. During their break they came and sat with me and the lead singer leans over to me and, instead of saying "hi, where are you from," he just smiled and started nodding up and down as he said, "I like oral sex..."

"I'm sure you do," I responded.

Agreed that Thermae is not really that great, mainly coz the girls just aren't much fun or service oriented (as bros mentioned) anymore. But glad they keep the LBs out.

The reason I think it's the best scene is NOT because every lady will give rock star service.  Mongers need to accept an inverse relationship between attractiveness and service which exists EVERYWHERE. The only way to overcome this is with money.

I think it's the best scene only because there are lots of talent in a tiny space and you can pick and choose easily.  Also, I dunno about the rest of you, but the biggest downer in Thailand are ladyboys.  But at Thermae Cafe, you don't have to worry about that.  Lastly, there's something appealing about banging shy normal ladies.
