No, I don't buy that answer.  It's too simplistic, and it doesn't square with the evidence...  

There are 73 local WGs in the 141 category.  53 of them charge less than $500.  17 charge $1400 or more.  Clearly, there is a high end of the local market...  and a low end.  There must be something to distinguish the two groups.

Of the 17 high-end ads, 7 are "teasers" with no pictures and with prices like $1500-3000.  These must be for escort services, which are really the sole domain of the rich, lazy, and clueless...   Whatever these ads are selling, it's a lot more complex that just "local"...

The other 10 ads are for HGs who are generally attractive (but not overwhelmingly so).  The secret?  They all speak Cantonese and 9 of the 10 also speak English.  My guess is that there is a market for guys who are willing to pay for HGs with whom they can actually have a good conversation.  There are a handful of HGs listed who can speak Cantonese and English, but most of those ads are put up by papasans who would say that a donkey could speak English...

I think CGP is right on.  When I've mongered in Montreal, half the girls that are listed as speaking English can barely carry a conversation past 2nd grade reading level.  In my book, the only reason to pay extra is if it's someone famous, and even that isn't for the service.  It would be just to say you've been there, if that's your thing.

But even when they can't speak English in Montreal, they seem to be able to speak GFE.  I had some wonderful times up there...

I am sorry but I have to disagree with you statement about punishment for the 'greedy' girl. It is just a matter of market. Even at high price she might have gotten an occasional customer and it would make her more money than "selling" multiple times at lower rates. So as DArtagnan has said - it seems the market was not willing to pay the higher price and she had to lower the price to stay in the biz.

That's basically it. Nothing more and nothing less. So pls forget about any punishment and treat all the WGs with a certain amount of respect.

I totally agree with the sentiment that they should ask whatever they want to ask - if we don't want to pay, we walk away, or make a counter-offer.  The girls that want to command a high fee clearly need to earn it ...

Frankly as I'm also someone who sells his time for $, and I set my own rate, I understand first hand the issue of pricing and choice we have to make between having high-price and fewer (but higher quality clients) versus trying to attract a higher number of price-sensitive clients by discounting.  More is not always better.
