Yes!....The wallpaper for the screen. It is projected as a landscape orientation which is split into 3 screens. The left had side of the picture is the left hand hand side section with part of the centre image overlapping into it. While the homepage is the centre of the image with both left and right hand portion of the image shown. The final screen is the right hand screen, thus right hand portion of the image with the centre part overlapping into it. A total of three screens and total of 16 icons on each.
iPhone has an advantage of 11 screens (3GS) and 9 screens (3G)
Eventhough it screen switch operation is smooth. Who you're going to show it to anyway

Zooming on Magic is of manual operation, on photos as well as the web.
Saving contacts once confirmed is sloooow.

I can just carry on bitching the HTC Magic.........

Given the poor review on the Magic, will you join the iPhone club bro...?

i had tried two HTC's before, second time i thot hey this one's gon be way better... but battery always died by lunchtime... other then that its not too bad of a phone... (touch diamond and touch pro)
i think the blackberry storm is a better option tho over iphone... of course after tweaking the click delay for the touchscreen to make texting just as easy as with the iphone.... blackberry's also seem to have more useful software for me compared to the iphone where they seem to have just mainly games.

I had the Htc Diamond before, but was just not the same thing. I felt more limited with it. It ended up with me using an old Nokia and a Ipod touch

I heard from others that it's something that happened with the OLD iphone 3g and not the newer ones.  Regardless tho, since almost everyone uses a protective back cover then choosing black or white model is irrelevant since you can change the "skin" by the cover.

Why would you buy the Iphone 3GS if you already have the 3G.
Not that much improvements worth the money.

I think that Apple will release a new phone each year just before the summer, like the last two years.
So I expect the Iphone 4g to come in june 2010.

Anybody have, or considering the HTC Touch Pro 2?
I'm kind of planning on getting one next week when I get to HK.

I tend to like to modify and tweak my phone.
So even though I LOVE the look and feel of an iPhone, I'm not a big fan of Apple and they OS's....

It's weird - I have an HTC magic and I absolutely love dealing with it.  Very few things are slow, web browsing can be a little painful.

I do appreciate that it is a more open system, and that really helps.  Apple is terrible for their control over their universe, which means you don't get all that you should, and they are forever getting in your way.

I live in the US, so getting a Iphone means going through AT&T.  That alone kills thoughts of buying the new 3Gs.

plus it is always a good idea to wait a few months for them to iron out the bugs.

Yeah, Apple's closed system really is unappealing.
They have a ton of apps, but few are really useful....

I'm leaning towards the HTC Touch Pro 2, because with that, I can get support from www.xda-developers.com
I think that's the biggest reason for me to go with HTC.
Those developers there have done SOOOOO much in terms of tweaking HTC phones....

Have to remember that Apple cripple the iPhone and every subsequent will add a little bit more to the existing features.

2g to 3g
photos to photos & video

Personally, as many have said already, the 3GS doesn't add anything significant or add that many new features so not worth the upgrade from 3G if you have one.

Never could get on with HTC phones.

have to admit it's proving harder and harder to find good reasons for avoiding it - I'm just not a mac fan, I like my systems to be more open

will pass on the Magic though - still waiting for a good Android phone - I'm a heavy google user, so I'm looking for the sort of integration that mac users have, without ending up locked behind the mac "lastic Curtain".

Having said all that there is one thing that might just swing me to try an iPhone: I heard the best software for playing Go is being ported to iPhone.  Now you know just how nerdy I am!!

GARY - you care to answer this one???

Big issue on the older Touch Pro is battery life.  I believe they've fixed that in the 2.

The other issue is (of course) the clunkiness of Windows, which is a matter of taste.  Once you figure out how to get it to do the things you want it to do, slow your brain down to its browsing speed, it's not bad.

Hopefully that cycle will continue then... my contract ends by then so Im looking forward to getting my hand on a shiny new iPhone... lets just hope they have a new name for the damn phone.. iPhone 3GS for speed is really crap... and I hope they'll boost the battery life alot more like how the OP said.. battery life even on the new 3GS is still pretty pathetic... and with no hope of changing batteries

There's actually something worse than battery life with the Apple family of iPhones.  With battery life, there is a lot of products coming that can that give you a portable battery pack to charge your phone anywhere on the go in case you run out.  Just do not buy the solar charges.  Takes you 10 hours to fully charge your phone.  Think about it.  10 hours of sunlight needed.  Where's the time for me to use my phone.

The new problem with these phones from what I heard is humidity damage.  Not just when you drop it in the toilet or the sink.  That is for sure going to be water damage.  There is a sensor on the iPhone built-in that senses the humidity that the phone is exposed to.  When it reaches a certain point, the phone will break.  This was a big problem with joggers who held the phone while jogging.  It's such a big device, so many thought holding it would be the best way to keep it safe.  It turns out the sweat from your body is what breaks the phone.  Now we all know how HK rains quite often.  Think about the humidity levels.
