I am, perhaps, a bit too sensitive about this thread being a cataylst for a series of racist rants and hate-mongering.  

The nature of how I am communicating with Rose (I cant just go see her in the hospital - though I really want to) means it is hard to get current and complete info about what LE is doing about it.  I know she did speak with them.  They told her they will visit the hotel and talk to witnesses and look at the guest registry and CCTV.   (course, we all know noone registers at a love hotel with their own name and they NEVER ask for ID).  Still, if they are doing what they told her than good (and I believe they will - HK LE seem pretty damn fair and thorough) .  If they get a picture of him (off CCTV) and provide it to Rose she will send it to me.

But the bad news?  Rose might get 30 days in prison for her overstay - before being deported.  (!!).  She feared this, but is hoping for some leniancy considering her situation.  Not been a good week for her...

Might not be the best advice but... Most HK hospitals you pay after services rendered.if the bill is insurmountable for her she can just walk out on it...

i think almost every bro on this board wd help out Rose in whatever way we could. we're glad wander is helping, but he's gotta be frustrated that he can't help more. it's natural: we know these ladies as human beings, and if we see them more than a few times and have great times with them, we know that they too could (and sometimes DO!) help us out, even in small ways. it's a fun hobby...95% of the time. sadly, some lowlife did something awful to this woman, and we hope he's caught and prosecuted.

SEAJ posed an interesting question about Zi Teng. i'm not an expert on this group, but it was formed in '96 and seems similar to other sex-worker NGOs in other countries. i don't know if they consult with other similar NGOs in other countries. i think they're relatively small and don't have a huge budget, and they focus on Chinese-language materials with some English translation. if you've been to 141-walkups u have probably seen those signs in English that remind u to use a condom and pay for services rendered--those are for the protection of the girls. my feeling is that they're non-judgmental as to local or PRC, but of course they must respect the law and as we know, the laws governing 141-activity in HK are quite narrow. so while their material won't be in simplified Chinese (as used on the mainland), my feeling is that a PRC WG in trouble could contact them if they ran into trouble here in HK. i'm sure they have Mandarin-speakers who can advise how to deal with various problems.

they do some publications, cheap printouts on A4-paper, and they print CCTV screen-captures of guys who are known to be mobile-phone thieves, etc. they'll paste these up in 141-hallways. i think you'd have to sink pretty low to swipe some WG's mobile phone, but apparently some guys do. i wd think that in cases of violence, they wd be willing to help to whatever extent possible. note that ZT has criticized the HKP in the past for accepting unpaid favors from WGs. but i don't think there's any heavy animosity between the two factions. i believe the HKP is more concerned about violent acts committed in HK than consensual 141-activity, and in this regard, ZT concurs. they seem to genuinely care about the women in this trade.

as for those from other lands, it's a bit different. i tried to explain ZT to Miki, the Thai gal i had so much fun with earlier this year. i don't think she ever really understood. in her world, there's just the LE and if u have enough currency, u don't have a problem. things don't work that way in HK, but there's nothing like ZT in Thailand. i consider them an important resource, but as an NGO focusing on a trade with gray legal areas, their scope is limited. they have held protest marches, small ones, with WGs (wearing ball caps/shades/surgical masks) carrying signs, so they're not insignificant.

Been Googling a bit on this matter and I came across this startling statement:

I also learned that Hong Kong has just recently completed a brand new prison in Lowu to house 1,400 women - and that supposedly this explosion in the female prison population is a direct result of Immigration offenses.

And yes, as far as I have been able to Google, WG's caught working in Hong Kong (in contravention to their condition of stay, ) does get prosecuted and ARE jailed.

It is not just WGs who get jailed.  A friend of mine's Filipina helper forgot to renew her DH visa (very stupid of her, mind you) and was 3 weeks over --- she went to fly home for a holiday and got stopped at the airport, sent to prison for 60 days, and banned from HK for 2 years.  Yes, she was stupid as hell for allowing this to happen: my mate would have signed the renewal when she asked - she just totally forgot it was due (she's been here about 11 years or so, so just got complacenet, I guess).  

Immigration is very, very tough here!  And sadly, even tougher on Filipinas.  

I am hopeful that Rose's condition will give them reason to be lenient and just send her home.

Sorry to bump an old post - I know it is not normally OK, but this case is different.

Hey Bro, thx for your concern.

Rose got out of hospital earlier this week and left for home today (deported - gone for 2 years minimum!).  I got to see her briefly - which was, possibly, as good for me as it was for her.  She's MUCH better.  Her left eye is..,, well..., Really frickin black'n'blue and swollen.  (I learned it was his shoe he beat her with!!!  What an asshole!!!).

BUT, she's in good spirits.  Happy to be going home.  She views that nite as "several bad decisions that fell against me".  So --- she was trying to blame herself, as so many girls do in these cases.     I talked her out of that horseshit!  For now anyway.

I'll stay in touch with Rose.  She's a good girl.  A sweet, lovely girl.
