Using 141 at work

I was just curious, how many bros link into the forum at work?
I myself keep logging in and out, and quite often have people walk into my office while I am checking the forum out. Fortunately they cannot see my screen on entering my office!
I would probably complete my work in half the time without the distractions, but since I don't have any real lookers within my office I have to search the web!
If any bros have a senior position within their companies and caught a worker looking at the site, would they reprimand them, for misusing work computers and wasting time. Or would you embrace them into the brotherhood?

chances are, your I.T. department already know and will report you to the management! lol

I'm joking of course, but actually there's some truth to it.  Many I.T. departments will monitor the staff for activity like that.  It's better to use your own mobile or ipad for that bro.  Be careful!

In fairness it isn't really a problem for me as such, as it is my business. But it could explain why I get the odd look from my guy in IT. Though our Network Maintenance is contracted out.
But I wonder how I would act if I caught one of the staff?
I think it would be a great relief and we would probably both fall to the ground hugging each other and crying, as the stress leaves us and we know we are not alone

I never connect from work. Usually use an iphone/ipad to avoid being traced. Too risky for me!

Hey TST,

What do they use for Mac OS?  Or does it not matter since you're intercepting at the network level?

For Travelpro,

Since it's your own company then your only risk is drawing some sort of sex harassment charge somewhere down the road.  You'll never see it coming anyway so no need to waste energy on it.

IME, the worst abusers of online porn on company time have usually been the IT department, so no embarrassment there! Those guys are horn dogs.   However if they're snooping on the boss then that's a bigger problem.  You've undoubtably got a lot more sensitive stuff going in and out of your email than just a pic of a big tittie 141 girl!

For those who are employees in this conversation I'd never surf 141 or any sex site at work.  You can probably get away with it most of the time, but really big companies are going to police that stuff on the premise that it makes for a 'hostile work environment' (thank you USA!).  Outside of that, where I've seen this material used in the past is in political work confrontations (internal politics I mean), so if someone has it out for you they will go looking for porn and/or expense account violations and/or questionable emails.

I didn't do it.  Really I didn't.

iPhone + unlimited data plan is the way to go!
iPad makes it all too obvious :p
My company has free wifi but I'd rather remain off it for this forum because it's managed by the strict IT department here.
Having said that, work is often busy so I'm not able to contribute much to mongering reports and stuff... Sad... I think my dick will drop off from lack of activity if this present course continues........

If it's a free and open wifi then you should be able to surf it privately on your smartphone just fine. So long as your IT department does not have your phone's identifier number you should be anonymous to them.

I'm totally logging in and out during work when I have nothing to do. When I sense someone walking close to me I would just switch to another tab. Although it would be rather embarassing to have someone find me surfing this kind of forum, I doubt they'd understand what kind of forum this is.

EDIT: Well, I just avoid looking at pictures. Just to be on the safe side.

I don't know what the laws are like in HKG, but in most places the computer and networks are the property of the company who has the right to examine them any way they wish.  That includes checking on sites, putting screen capture software on your computer - hidden to you, and key-loggers.  It is their computer. their network, and you have no right of privacy while using it.

So your 141 handle wouldn't be quite so anonymous any more.

Now travelpro it is your company and therefore, presumably your computer.  But would you want someone in the IT department learning that you are travelpro?  In most company grapevines news flies around fast, and we'd soon have a whole new load of nookie newbies doing searches on what travelpro has posted.

And what about when someone in the IT department gets fired.  You think that pissed of WG's can be a pain - wait to see the world of hurt that a disgruntled IT guy can lay down!

sooo you own the company and can keep a healthy balance sheet with your empyess knowing its OK and actively surfing the internet on company time??? ........and your customers are OK doing business with a company where the workers look at pics of hookers, and probably touch their weiners, all day? Need a copy of that business model.

And seriously, if someone is so addicted to this site they can't get off they really need to get laid.

It's nice to know that most of you (not me I may add) are stand up employees and do not use office equipment for your hobbies! Though I see many use their own stuff iPhone etc during work

Re Butler: the only guy who has any admin rights in my office, has been to some lap dancing joints with me, so would imagine he's cool, though he is not aware of my mongering activities (or is he )
Re sexual harassment, Doubt the guys in the office would be bothered, and the ladies here, if you saw them would probably not have their cases taken seriously. Cos I really wouldn't! Not that they're not nice girls (if they're reading this!!), I just have too much respect for them

Re JJJ37: Not that sure about the balance sheet, if I spent a little less time looking at this stuff, I would probably know! But if your really interested in the model, I basically try to run the business around a need to travel to HK!   Rest of it is just a means to an end.

In all seriousness though only a small company, and am pretty tight with all the staff, most of which have been with me over ten years.

Wohoo, I only use my smartphone. Can't risk having an open screen on the computer with other people seeing.

As for the computer monitoring, it's very possible. They can directly log internet traffic or have some spyware on all the employee's computers. I know companies that actually do so.

I know IT well.... and let me tell you for certain... do not look at this forum on a company network.  Company equipment like a laptop or smartphone should be fine if you are on your own or a public network.  Fact is, if they snoop on your company equipment while you are NOT on their network with a key logger or similar, you are likely being targeted for termination anyway.  Who would want to work for a company that logs your key strokes.  Screw them... let em fire you if that's what they are doing!

I don't agree.... chances are certain that if you surf this website on a company network someone already knows.  Whether or not they do something about it is another story.

Yeah. Personally I don't see any upside accessing this forum from work.  All your information at work is accessible by others and stored for a long time.  This is especially true if you work for a large multi-national. Even if no one has seen it yet, the fact that data is stored and centralized means that someone (and you won't know who) may see it in the future, and they will know your identity.

As for my work place, I would really frown on that for my employees.  Not that I have any objection to what they do in their personal time, but what they do with company resources and company time will reflect on the firm. I certainly don't want people saying that the company implicitly or explicitly "condones" this forum, if that information became known by others...

For example, if an assistant saw someone accessing this site (us firms still have to abide by US sexual harassment / sexism claims, even here) I can imagine she would have a decent case against management that they are not vigilant in enforcing a non-sexist work environment.
