So I'm hearing more and more about this Nuru thing. I looked up some places that offers it and it is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive. Yes, I read the reasons why it's more expensive, and I suppose it makes sense...but is it worth it? Anyone try it? Is it something you totally have to try? or is it over rated? What exactly is "Nuru"? Never heard of it

I've looked around the ads and DB for nuru in HK and it does seem tough to find.  Maybe more of a Japanese local thing?

I've tried it before in 18 Sauna in Macau. i got one of the 7xx-numbered girls and she did a nuru thing in the shower. I'd say that it's worth trying just for the experience. Nuru is quite interesting in that it's slippery as hell but doesn't foam up (like soap) or lose its "slipperiness" very fast (like massage oil or lube). And another good thing is that nuru is actually edible. It is possible the costs associated with Nuru are an issue. The gel is expensive (about $50 a shot). You need enough room for a matress, and a shower in the room. The girls need to be trained to act a little differently. Plus, the turnover time is about 50% longer than other sessions. Economically, it doesn't earn as much for the spa as standard massages. Flirt charges only about $20 more than the usual body rub when you factor in room time (and at $300 an hour few customers would line up for it), and while I can't speak for the owners of Flirt I suspect they offer so they can be somewhat different than the other spas. As a Nuru afficionado I would love to see Nuru everywhere, but I suspect it will continue to be a niche offering.

Also, from what I read, the MP will warm up the gel before your appointment so it ISN'T "cool". hence....rather expensive.

I have no idea where they have it in HK, but I'm here in Toronto for a little bit....and there sems to be a few places that offers it here so i'm wondering. That being said........Not too many attendants are trained for Nuru...so it makes me wonder about 1. quality....and 2. if maybe they might not look so great.....
