It only costs you around 150 USD a day for a girl and hotel in PRC. More inland you go, fewer $$ you spend.  The question is 1000 USD can only afford you on the traveling fee. Just save it in your bank and wait for another 1000.

Personally, value for money, I'd probably try central america. Flights from here to latin america aren't too much, and the prices are more than reasonable. I guess HK on $1000 would only be viable if you're already in SEA, or Australia ... and those in Europe would probably have to do with ... either Africa, or Eastern Europe punting!

Lol, in regards to you questions, it had only been like 3 days, so didn't think I was gone that long!

The amount of relatively arbitrary, but I was curious to see how people would handle a amount of money set purely for punting, and whether they would dine locally at more expensive amounts, or travel somewhere for cheaper activities ... I mean, the cost of a WG in the US is considerably higher than a SEA country, but then the cost of the travel to a SEA would negate that factor for most posters not based in South East Asia. I mean, $1000 is enough for that to become an issue, where as $10000, well, everyone would travel to HK and sample all the delights of the 141 DB ... simultaneously!!

Realistically, probably nobody here has an amount set aside purely for punting, but more tend to work in punting depending on their needs or around travel arrangements. I know for myself, I just tend to punt out of whatever spending money I've put aside ... but a dedicated budget probably wouldn't hurt!

I was surprised those that many of the replies were so practical in their consideration of other factors aside from pure punt expenses, around transport, flights, accomodate, food!
