I agree with HKPooner, that this isn't particular to HK, but it *is* routinely applicable where prostitution is legal and prolific, which causes an ever spirally pattern of girls seeing WG living a better live, and moving in that career path, and continually expanding the WG base.

Yeah for some it's become almost a full-time hobby.

But this seems to be most applicable in places where prostitution is widespread and the income gap between the rich and poor is very great.

this applies to many south east asian countries like Philippines, Thailand, China, Burma etc.

But also in Eastern Europe this can be seem in Romania, Hungary, and last but not least Ukraine!

When the haves have to much more than the have-nots, there lines a level of discontent and desperate struggle to get out of poverty that  people will resort to anything.

If you are poor either a Gwei Lo or Chinese and over 20 years their senior, Chinese girls will dump you quickly. After finding out you are poor, she might try to get as much out of you as possible and used you.  

This has happened to me with three girls that I know in China. Found out two had boyfriends on the side.

A lot of them are looking for financial security first and if possible maybe love.

I've had my own share of experiences finding out that girls had boyfriends on the side. I've experienced the lies, the sweet talks, the sad stories about how they need money and it's a family emergency, which is also a lie.

I even had a girl call me once and said she was kidnapped and needed me to save her. I then asked her "if you are kidnapped, how come you still have a phone to call me? shouldn't your kidnappers take your phone away from you?" She hung up the phone immediately. Texted me back and said she was joking and texted "are you coming to fuhao KTV tonight? I'll be waiting for you! BUsiness has been bad, please come and pick me! "

After a while, it becomes a game of I trick you and you trick me. Everyone has a baseball in one arm hidden behind their back as everyone puts up a smile in front. Sad but true. Get in the game, but don't get lost in it.

Clearly WGs in CP have gone from wow I have money, to how much money can I suck out.  When and if you find newbies to the WG game they are still from the original program, more service oriented more attentive, it is novel to them.  after a few months of drinking and exchanging gameplans with their friends they figure out how to milk the system.

More girls simply do ST... they no longer feel obligated to stay overnight now that the ST fee is closer to the LT fee.  3-7-10 the new norm is a big change from the 2-5-8... there are many sponsored girls at KTV that simply want the extra money from the sittings and can do it without crossing their sponsor.  Sponsors regularly call in at 11-12 to check up on them and if they can answer their phone they assume they aren't with a customer.

iphone is a pretty good giveaway that they have or had a sponsor... nokia phones seem to be self bought in most cases... same with other smartphones that are in their purchase range.  

CP clearly has changed, the girls are more finicky and the mommies have lost control, if they are treated bad they go to another KTV... WGs are in demand as more venues open, therefore they have the upper hand on management.  the phone rules are regularly skirted by WG by hiding their phone in their bras, before they would pester you for snacks and drinks to avoid the 30rmb fine, now they just don't care.  the extra 100 in sitting fee takes care of all the small fines...

whereas they used to stay in uniform the whole night, now 30 minutes in they want to change.  it is a different place and more entertainment and less about the trade.

I am glad to hear JiaYi opening... what they need to have is a Sauna girl KTV, trained KTV girls even at a higher rate would be something new and innovative.
