NOTE: This is a post that I posted a while back in another forum. I wanted to share this with everyone here because I thought that it might be a good reminder for all brothers to stay grounded while they are hobbying and having fun with WGs. Hope everyone will like it:

CP Changes people
After the many years in CP, I realize that CP changed people for either the better or the worse- usually the for the worse.

Changes of Regular girls- I've seen Footie girls that came to CP years ago holding true to their principles of not selling their pride, their body for money. After years of struggle and seeing how their customers bring in girls who enjoy the wonders of life for just spreading their legs, it's hard for any girl to resist. Thus footie girls turning in WG. I've seen DJ's who initially became a DJ seeing that 200 RMB a day pouring drinks and cleaning up trash was much better than the 60 RMB that they had when they worked overtime at a run down factory. They then saw how customer bring in KTV girls and how these girls were no prettier than they were were getting the same if not more than they were for sitting there, enjoying themselves and being served by DJ's the whole entire night-thus DJ's becoming a WG for the hope of a better life.

Changes of Mongers- I've seen mongers who when first came to CP were so docile and quiet and polite, over the years turn into something completely different. As if their true self that was supressed for so long was unleashed and gradually become more confident, loud and even borderline rude to everyone around. Someone who use to be respectful of others, became a person who demanded respect from others. CP gives an illusion to mongers, that back in their hometown they are a zero, but in CP all of a sudden they are everyone's hero. Imagine coming into CP, a place where everyone kisses your feet, everyone calls you "lao ban" or boss. Everyone is dying to do anything for the money in your pocket, praising you and treating you as if you are the king of the universe to them, how can anyone not change? How can anyone not let this get to their head? How can anyone not feel great about themselves or feel more confident in themselves? Mongers save like crazy back home so that they can come and blink all of their money away in CP, because who would spend $80 USD on a high class meal back home when they could use that $60 for a Sauna Session or partying at a KTV?

But there's a dark side to all of this. I've seen girls who get lost in the game of being a WG. Something that they promised themselves they would never become, they became. Later when they told themselves that it would be temporary, it became long term and then it became something permanent. I've seen girls who never pulled out of being a WG when they should have who wither their youth away and become old and unwanted, stuck in a situation where they couldn't find a partner to marry because they were too old and couldn't work as a WG anymore because of their age. There are some girls who knew that all the customers that came to CP are not there looking for love, but looking for a variety of girls to sleep with, but somehow got caught up loving a customer who toyed with their emotions, love and gave them a false hope- hope that a prince charming would save them from their life of hardship. But in the end was dealt with nothing but a harsh and bitter reality that the man / customer they thought they loved, was only there to have fun. Countless years of youth withered away, because CP gives girls an opportunity where they can earn quick money for virtually opening up their legs because they are young. But one day their years of youth will be numbered and most girls cannot adjust to reality and break away from CP's illusions.

The dark side of CP applies to men as well. CP in some ways make men feel good about themselves. Sometimes CP makes mongers feel a bit too good about themselves that it borders into arrogance. The reality is that in CP, most if not all of what girls tell you or compliment you, you must take with a grain of salt. I've seen men get caught up with girls, believing that these beautiful girls, which they could never have gotten in back in their home country, are actually madly in love with them. The truth is, it's rare that a girl would truly love you. They may be in love with your money or the hope that you will support them financially, but actually loving you is a whole different story. When I write this, I'm sure there's going to be a sting of mongers that will reply and explain to me their story about how much a girl loved them and how they were willing to sacrifice this and that for them and do this and that without any mention of monetary gain. Sure those situations exists. But do you guys ever think that perhaps they are trying to reel you in for a bigger payoff? I've always said that when it comes to girls, it's either you pay now or you pay later. In fact I would be as daring to expand on my comment and state that "it's either you pay now, or MORE later." Many girls try to lure guys in, not for a 200-300 RMB payoff, but they know they can milk more money out of you later on with gifts, an iphone, or ipad, or something more expensive later on. I've seen many guys trapped by these WG, wanting a GFE feeling and taking them out to do this and that and in the end they just but only another sucker in the girl's trap. On the flip side, I've seen really nice and kind guys change in CP to really become big arrogant A*holes. Guys playing with girl's emotions for fun, making them fall in love with them and then dumping them once they have achieved their conquest. Luring them in with hopes of marrying them or bringing them and their family out of poverty, only to deliver empty promises to gain free sex.

The bottom line is that CP is all but an illusion. Yes, it feels good and feels real when you are here in CP. But we still need to differentiate in the end what is real and what is not so we are not sucked into CP so deeply that it's hard for us to climb back out again. Yes in CP people around you make you feel important. But it is NOT ok to be flamboyant or cocky, yelling at Mommies and managers and even girls. Because CP really is the wild wild west. Every girl, every mommie, ever manager or just some punk on the street could have a friend or cousins in the triad or gangs that could just come up to you on the street with a sharp metal pipe and end your life on the street while you are walking to your restaurant for lunch or footie session if you happen to piss off the wrong person. There are regular and reoccurring incidences of dead bodies lying in the gutters near or outside of New Century Hotel. In fact what you have to realize is that life in China is not worth all that much. 2 years ago in CP a HK monger had his throat slit in a convenient store- many people say it's related to the girl that he pissed off or dumped in CP. Even if someone killed you, most of the authorities would not even know where to catch the culprit, and even if they did catch the culprit, who cares, you're dead.

So my bottom line is, CP is a great place, but yet a very dangerous place at the same time. My advice to anyone is, don't lose yourself, and don't let the environment and the pleasures that CP has to offer get to your head. Be low key, don't attract attention, have fun and be courteous. Being loud, obnoxious, confrontational, arrogant may lead you to one of the many gutters of CP one day-injured if not dead. Don't get lose in the game or get in too deep that it's too difficult to pull out. CP afterall is only but an illusion. No, not every girl adores you and loves you, they are paid to pretend that they do. As real as you may think it is, just know in the back of your head that it's just make belief at best.

you get that short amount of fun and u go home with no strings attached

always reminded me of a weekend trip to vegas

Well, the only thing I like to correct is: Maybe CP = DG.
Shit like this is not only applicable to CP alone, try CA (ChangAn), Houjie, or other parts of Dongguan.......

I'm not entirely sure that all that's said is across the board. I think that by and large, most people are still courteous and not "rude". But definitely noteworthy.
I do however, caution the reports that are being read in the dailies. I don't think that anything has changed over the years about triads and people getting beat up / shot / killed. Just that it's being reported more now. Thankfully, these situations tend more to pertain to local tourists rather than foreign tourists.

Are there people who are as you depicted? Absolutely. Anytime you have women and alcohol involved, things can get ugly. Just that service providers in Asia generally deal with things as courteously as possible. Starting such problems at a North American establishment (including KTVs with WGs), would likely draw the ire of the bouncers or Law enforcement. Or even...the anger of other patrons (a la bar fights).

But I do hope that fellow mongers will take heed and act in accordance with the same decorum they would expect in their own homes....well in my case.....my trailer. =)~

Skeptical about GFE and Love...Yeah I'm pretty sure. I've seen guys who have ruined their whole lives, but falling for the wrong girl in CP and getting burned. I once knew a guy in his 50's. (this was about 10 years ago) He often went to China on business trips. He falls in love with a 22 years old gal in which he professes is true love. The girl says I really love you but you are married with a kid so i guess there is no future between us, and even wept in front of him. The 50 year old man goes back home and tells his wife of 25 years the truth about his current new found love. He told his wife that he is found his true soul-mate and he wants a divorce. The wife will only agree with the divorce if he signs over all assets over for the divorce settlement. The guys agrees and says, you can have everything, my new found love does not care about money, she is from the countryside and she has lived her life with little and will not care if he has no money. They divorce within a few weeks and he moves all of his belongings to China.

Once he met up with his new found lover (the 22 year old girl) he said that he finally got divorced with his wife and he that we can be together now. That he went through hell and gave all of his assets to his wife so that he could be with her in China. Once the girl heard that, she replied: "well so you have NOTHING? So why did you come back to me for?" The girl left and changed her SIM card and disappeared.

The guy realized he was so foolish and his ex wife would not take him back. So he's 50, now 60, with no assets, no lover, no wife and a kid who doesn't even wanna talk to him.

So Can the fantasy of being in love in China ruin your life? Yes it could...especially in his case.

Sad story. But you don't need to be in China for that to arrive. In all countries you'll find guys who fucked up their lives for a girl.

I agree this kind of story may happen more often in CP, as all people there came for money and a better life.

I do agree with you the fact that China is still a charming Country. I just wanted people to not get too deep into the game that's all. All in all Chinese people are nice. I'm just hoping that brothers here can tell the difference between what's real and what is fantasy and to be sage on their mongering experience, in whatever country they may be in.

There are a lot of Gwei Lo's who would disagree with you about the love part, LOL...  Me? I play the part, the sucker from the states, the one who believes that she loves me for me, the one who is unmarried with a great job in the states, you know how many freebies and discounts I've gotten out of their love of the words, "wo men jiang XIN de, bu shi JIN!"  Well, I play the part to roleplay and wo jiang JIN de, bu shi xin! but they don't know it and I leave with a little more weight in my wallet than if I told them I'm married and here to play and only play.

Well you seem to have the added advantage of being a caucasian. It appears that many in Asia, including China still have this mindset that immigrating to a Western country will make their lives infinitely better. I think this mindset can be used to your advantage. But along the way, there will be lots of girls you leave behind with broken hearts and broken dreams. But then again, I guess it's all part of the game right?

I'm far from caucasian, but coming from the states the girls want to marry me more than a gwai lo, why? cuz we eat the same foods, understand the same traditions, etc...  most gwai los who burn incense have no idea what it is, they only know the tangible parts, what they've read, etc... they don't have the feelings that come with bowing three times with incense in their hands, this comes from experience and experience only, I mean....  which Chinese guy doesn't remember his mother, grandmother, auntie or whatever holding the incense for you in your hands and saying, Bai CHING CHING la! when you're 4 years old?  eh.. i digress, there is  a better understanding and these china whores find ABCs a much better (not necessarily easier) target then let's say a 50 year old balding white guy, no offense to 50 year old balding white guys of course.

You are certainly right on your end. Communication and cultural similarities are big when it comes to WGs in China wanting to be with you. These girls think about how you will be able to get along and communicate with their parents and family members before considering anything else if they are really deeply into you. Next i think comes with Distance. They would prefer someone who lives nearby than someone who lives in another country.

You do sure have advantages when you are in China though! Enjoy while it lasts because nothing good lasts for too long. With the local population getting richer and more educated and a little bit....a tiny little bit more well mannered, it's going to be very hard to compete with a local guy in China. If given a choice, they will still take a local China man than an ABC when all factors are equal, just because of distance. Distance is a big factor.

There's more where that came from.... Just might cost us a little more tho. Might be time for me to up the rents at the trailer park. Haha

I think it is time to up the rent on the trailer park! Everything is just so damn expensive lately- Gas, Food, almost everything. Massive inflation everywhere.

So I would up the rent, get the most money you can upfront and just spend it and have fun! We never know what tomorrow's going to bring right? Chances are, we always complain that prices are expensive today. But when we look back in hindsight to a few years back, we always reminisce how cheap it was back then. So live it up, a few years forward, you'll be kicking yourself in the butt for not living it up and enjoying life more.

I think of CP as a man's disneyland.
Have your fun in a fantasy land for a while and feel like a king, but know that sooner or later you  need to return to reality back home.

The most dangerous part is blurring that line between fantasy & reality.

Totally agree with you! It's sad but I've seen many men who got lost in the game. They are so deep in it that it's hard for them to climb back out of it.

As much as you say things change, I'm not so sure how much the world has really changed.  And your story isn't restricted to CP or China. Hell it happens all the time since the dawn of time all over the world.

Back in my day as a youth, where pros were not so prevalent and money was not so available, was the game not the same?

Guys would lure girls out with suave hair, flash some cash to take regular girls to entertaining venues such as a theatre or restaurant with their fancy cars (a ford cortina MK2 would get you laid.  It didn't take a ferrari/lambo to turn a head back then).  We certainly didn't love ALLLL of those girls.  And they certainly didn't all love me from the first day (and for some, any day for that matter).  And yes, the point from a guy's perspective was to get them to open up their legs.  And from the girl's perspective to lure in the best catch to hopefully have a guy marry them, take care of them, send money to her parents monthly.

The only difference between a pro and any of my ex-girlfriends (and ex-wives for that matter) is the speed at which the transition takes places.  Where a pro sets a fixed number for instant gratification, a gf sets her sights higher with bigger risk due to a later potential paydate (although more than one ex-gf has been known to play more than 1 batter at a time), and an wife locks you down with a guarentee of ripping half of your guts the instant you sign with her.

I have seen love from pros (pro-turned gfs), I have seen false love from wives (chicks who never were pros to begin with but married knowing they are instant cha-ching once signed).  And I know too many guys who married a pro who are clueless they have married a pro and know none the better and they are both happily married and in love.

The one thing I've noticed.  If you've grown up to be an asshole, whether you're shy or not.  When shit hits the fan, you're an asshole.  If you've grown up to be a gentleman, no matter how much your shoe is shined or whether you hit a slump, you still treat others with respect and act the gentleman that you are (unless of course they deserve it).

Conversely, a chick that wants you for money, wants you for money.  Pro or otherwise.  If you still can't tell when a chick wants you for money, it's a hard and long road to walk brother and I hope you find some shortcuts eventually or you're gonna have very little money unless you stay with a fixed price chick for money (ie a pro pay for play) or of course, you're lucky and don't encounter a chick like that.  And please don't tell me you think the $500 bucks or the black credit card in your wallet is what a chick who wants you for money wants.  A man's value is his existing assets PLUS potential assets from ALL future possible derivatives whether inheritance, job, desperations and gambles.

In general, everything in this world is an illusion.  The only truth that a person can ever truely see is when you look at yourself hard in the mirror and accept it for what it is.  However, I believe too many people look in a mirror and still prefer to see an illusion.

Just because you're a nice guy, it doesn't mean you're going to live a nice and healthy long life.  And just cuz you're an asshole, it doesn't mean you're going to croak at the next dark corner.  It's also a probability that because you're the nice guy, you're a lamb and thus a good target to rob and if you freak shit and scream, get your throat slit in the process.  There are no guarentees in life.  But rather than be nice for fear of death or be an ass for fear of perception, perhaps we should look in the mirror and be whatever we are because that is what we are.

Having finished typed this, I just checked.  I'm on a punter's forum?!?  Perhaps punters are the most self-reflective, philosphical and intellectual people in the world!

I would have to agree! If you think about it, being hte pearl River Delta is great! Macau gives you the gambling and night life that vegas Gives. HK gives you the great food and shopping if you are into it. Shenzhen is great to pick up "semi-civvies" I say Semi because in Shenzhen there's many times ,not all the time, a blur between a civvie and a WG girl. You never know if a hot girl in a nice mall in SZ is a kept women, a part time WG freelancer etc.

And DG, especially CP, Changan, etc are all mongering heaven..for now. So it's really what I would call, the "Golden Triangle"
