I think even Asian guys would have differing views on the matter...I mean how they rate Asian girls. Similarly as some men find big boobs are a turn on, but many prefer dainty ones...

Very true, but I'd be willing to bet if the OP conducted such said poll with his Asian friends, assuming similar background, whether the variance would be as high compared to his non-Asian friends. My guess would be the variance or disagreement of beauty would be quite a bit less so.

1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
2. Non-Asian women...especially Americans, tend to be a little larger in stature. I'm not saying fat (even if many of them are). Don't forget, Marilyn Monroe was a size 12. Hence....larger / thicker girls to Asian guys...might still be considered petite for non-Asian guys.
3. Some non-Asian guys find Asian women attractive because of the "exoticism". That is entirely cultural in upbringing. While it's SLOWLY changing, an Asian is still SUPPOSED to have slanted eyes. None of my asian friends think Lucy Liu is good looking. Majority of my Non-Asian friends think Lucy Liu is wicked hot.
4. Non-Asians think of darker skin as healthy and luxurious. It means you have the ability to hang out at the beach all day. Asians associate darker skin to those who are FORCED to work outside... hence...poor and lower class.
5. Stereotyping... the prototypical stereotype of an asian woman to non-asians is that she's meek and submissive.

Obviously, there are more factors...but these 5 seem prevailing in my own head. but just looking at these 5 things, of course there are differences in Asian and non-Asian taste towards Asian women. =)~

Asian men - define please. Asia spans from Japan to the South Asia to the Middle East and off till the straits of Turkey.

Arabs like their women 'large'
South Asians like their women 'voluptuous' n 'curvy' with sharp features
Turkish men - ohh they think Turkish women are the best in the world - in whatever sizes/combinations they come.
South East and East Asian men -  ...  er.. no comments.

So by this measure if we are to compare Caucasian White Male preference for Asian women, one needs to define EAST ASIAN or .. pan asian

BTW - for me, I'd dig any East Asian girl that doesn't wear make up , has a bit of tan skin and a North American or South American accent.

This is one thing that Asians for the most part don't like about their features, the small slit eyes.
Not sure if it's because it's not considered an attractive feature or the fact it's been a term that's been shown as prejudice against Asians in the past.

Maybe we can also make a distinction between beauty and sex appeal as well. For example, I think Zhang Ziyi is pretty, but not really sexy. And I understood that in China, most people don't find it pretty.

Also, beauty may have a ethnical diversity environment. You like what is rare. In China, it's rare to find tall girls with very white skin and big boobs. In west, it's rare to find petite and tan girls. Discrepancies in western guys tastes should be wide due to immigration, whether in countries like china and japan with very few racial diversity, 'everybody looks the same'.

After many years in HK and China, I still look at chinese girls like my first time. Can't get used to those tight ass in mini short and those long slim legs ! Sometimes, I also watch around, and I feel like I am the only perv around watching, other local guys don't care ! I can understand it, as they have seen slender legs in mini skirt all their lives.

Having grown up in NA, I'm use to seeing Asian women on the bigger boob side and fewer girls with slim sexy looking legs and a small tight ass.

I guess that's why I drool whenever I see a spinner in short shorts or a mini skirt.

I also think that you either have to work hard to keep sexy skinny legs or just be born with it.  Whereas with boobs, there are just too many fakes out there nowadays or women just pad up the bras.  Thus I'm not as turned on with boobs as I use to be.

And also, being a doggy man myself, slim strong toned legs a mega boner turn on!

For me, South East Asian women are some of the best looking ones...Malays, Thais, Indonesians, Pinays, South East Asian Chinese. I like 'em a little tanned, fair skin is fine but my preference is still a slight tan. Many of my Chinese friends (whether here in China or South East Asian countries) prefers fair skin when referring to ethnic Chinese. Cultural conditioning perhaps?

There is even a saying in Chinese: "Having fair skin will mask 3 ugliness" - what is the 3 ugliness, I am not sure. ButI know there is this obsession on having fair skin - hence the arrays of cosmetic products in the market that is suppose to make women skin fairer.

I agree, Zhang Ziyi does have a pretty face but no sex appeal. She is too skinny for my liking - worse still, she has no tits. My personal favorite is Gong Li - perhaps the reason is my preference for full-body women. Throw me Monica Bellucci or Scarlet Johansson anytime, I'll take 'em. Offer me Zhang Ziyi? Unless I am desperately horny or drunk... I'd think thrice.

I don't agree that asian and non asian men agree when it comes to western women.  Like Julia Roberts for example, lots of asian men didn't really find her attractive with that coltish looking mouth of hers

As for white women - I prefer the east european types. Really gorgeous features, those girls.  Irish girls too are great lookers.

As for Asia - I'd always go for the Lebanese girls. In South Asia, always the dusky Indian girls from Delhi area. In East Asia - I'd put the Vietnamese girls on a pedestal but in terms of overall quality , I'd go for the Korean girls.  Simply beautiful women

Normally i get turned on by those smooth silky white skinned, long and lean Asian women like Chinese, Japs, Korean etc who i almost always see as escorts of Asian businessmen in casinos, ktvs, and fine dining restos.

Reading this is interesting for me as I tend to find, physically a more western-esque body (big boobs, slim waist, round behind) more attractive on EA women than the generic slim, small boobs, slim hips that is the percieved 'norm' so I tend to look for them.  

I imagine there's alot of freudian psychology at play governing these choices/attractions and we're preprogrammed to find certain 'types' of physical trait more attractive (continuation of the species and all that). So for someone growing up in western europe, who has been exposed to glamour models as examples of sexual imagery (playboy-esque) that will wire itself in and the individual will find that kind of body attractive. Maybe. Its just a vague theory and has no scientific basis beyond my own observations of friends etc. and their choices.
