In China it is best to confirm the price of anything and everything before doing, touching, consuming, taking a photo of, etc. You can get fleeced (fleeced-ish) on dinner with something as simple as beer. You order off a menu with reasonable prices. Later, they ask if you want beer. It wasn't on the menu so you've never seen the price, it could be anything, but you figure no problem because the food prices were normal. However it ends up being something ridiculous like 50 RMB simply because they can--because you didn't ask before you ordered.
Not the one of the nastier stories you'll hear, that's for sure. But still a good reminder that if the price isn't confirmed someone is going to try to make some extra money off you.
