Does the success of the Thai Alley reflects the wealth gap in Hong Kong?

I notice that the Thai Alley, where the WGs charge cheaply, has people literally queuing up outside the door, whereas former "middle class" strong holds such as Sun Kai Mansion in Wanchai and
Champagne Court seems to be losing their buzz. Does this reflect the increasing wealth gap in Hong Kong where the former middle managers are now reduced to queuing up for cheap Thai WGs.
instead of going to the mainland WGs with their porcelain skin?

There was a time before 1997 handover when there were many WGs from Thailand and Philippines working in HK. Till about a year ago the South East Asians disappeared and the mainland girls from remote provinces took over. Now it looks like the Brown WGs are back and even more popular.

Do any of the brothers with economic and business backgrounds give their views on the recent "browning" of the industry?
