Shangrao- Help required

Hi Bros

I am a VERY new Nook Newbie looking for help.  I hope I am posting this correctly.
In about ten or eleven weeks  I will be travelling to the city of Shangrao in the province of Jiangxi.  I will be working on a project for about two months.  I know the city is expanding rapidly into very beautiful countryside. I know arrangements are being made to fill some of my spare time.  However at the present I am unsure whether I will be able to explore for 141 type activities.

Obviously I hope that my hosts will be willing to take me around in a discrete manner.  However, if I am forced to go solo can any Bro give me some recommendations.  I used the search facility for Shangrao here but
there was no trace of any previous posts for the city.  Any information would be gratefully received.

Are you staying at, or are there any 4-5 star hotels there?  That would be the absolute easiest rout.  Use their sauna.  Also, if you are staying in the same place the whole time, get to know the bellboys.  They know everything and if you are a good tipper they will be happy to direct you and be discrete.

As you travel around keep an eye out for the neon barbershop polls or small shops with pink or purple lighting inside.  Look in and see if you find any girls sitting around doing nothing.  If so, be brave and walk in.

You can try CL but that may be hit or miss.  Also SEAJ / SEAN had suggested to get friendly with the restaurant staff as that is also another way in.

If you hang around the hotel lobbies there are usually some MMS passing out business cards.  Make sure to get a local cell to facilitate the call back / text processs.  If you are concerned about hotel security then meet the WG at the hotel bar.  It is much easier to take her up the elevator from there.

Thank you Bros Kaleu and Bohica for your suggestions.

I think that you are right that I should test the waters in the time honored way.  Hotel Bar, sauna, barber shop.  The main problem is my lack of ability to converse.  I am dependent on my hosts who speak good English.  Aside from local University students it will not be easy to find English speakers.

Still I have two months to make myself known and to gain the confidence of those who can point me in the right direction. I agree the need for a local cell phone, a screen display has no accent and the number facility allows both parties to bargain and reach agreement on a price

I will report back in due course.
