Has anyone else browsed the girls of Tantan? It's purely a dating site I think, probably not for foreigners. But my first reaction was, holy shit these girls are all gorgeous. I remember years ago  after I divorced looking at hags on a USA dating site. I couldn't find a fuckable one out of thousand. Here in China, it's the opposite. Maybe only 1/1000 is unfuckable. Is this just my personal preference, or are US girls really that nasty?

Good point about photoshop. Or actually the special cameras they have. Even so, I don't think the best camera could hide an extra 50kg.

I tried Tantan last visit to Shenzhen, didn't end up meeting anyone from it as it appears to be civvies only.
I got a few contacts from ladies but no hints at P4P from any of them therefore did not even try to arrange a meet.
Also the level of english was low from those I did talk to.

You're assuming the photos are current, which is a big ?

1. Meitu Xiuxiu, China's version of photoshop which is super user-friendly, makes all the pictures irrelevant. You can make average girls into supermodel-level gorgeousness with it and EVERY chinese girl has it.
2. Most Chinese girls won't be interested in one-night-stands with you, esp if they're in the age 25 range. They're on there to find a future husband or at least a stable boyfriend so that their parents will get off their back about marrying and having kids.
3. Dating girls in China is EXPENSIVE (generalization but mostly true), much cheaper and less time intensive to just find providers

Here's the facts of life.... the vast majority of Chinese girls (especially attractive ones) don't want a foreign bf or husband. They just don't. And their families will often disown them if they do. So if you are an older foreign guy and want a pretty Chinese gf or wife, you need to pony up and pay. Yes, they can still fall in love with you and you can have a happy family life, but there needs to be more than love for most of them to do it.

I dated a few on tantan and went to town with 2 (freebies).
But I can confirm that they are not WGs and are looking for friends or a bf.

Stereotype much?  Personal experiences and anecdotal evidence does not mean fact. I know plenty of mainland girls that have married foreigners. Not a single one has been disowned. Nor have their families frowned upon it. I don't dispute that it DOES exist, but fact?

I agree with you, but also understand JasonTrumps point. I know both sides. Chinese families who really love the foreign husband/wife. And also families who were not quite happy about it, but learned to accept it.

Ethnically I am chinese too though i'm like 5th generation ABC. And alot of overseas chinese like to stay among themselfs. This is why after all this time I'm still pure chinese by blood.

I also dated chinese girls (long time relationship) who didn't dare to introduce me to their families because the family does expect her to get married to a guy from the very same home town in china. And if she is not able to find a rich guy in the home town, then the guy has to be at least from the same province, speaking the same dialect. These are the more hardcore traditional families in China. Certain groups of han-chinese are very famous for this. In their point of view it's two families coming together. And they want the families to be compatible. Actually these kind of families dont give a shit about if the bride and groom are compatible. Just the families. So it's naturally for them to reject foreigners. But in that sense everyone who is not from their inner circle is a foreigner. Unless you are rich as fuck.

I used it earlier this year and had a good fwb for a few months, few & far between on tantan though.. a lot do not speak English and I believe a lot of them are fake.

This is IMHO - it has not always worked out and be honest from the beginning what you are looking for. I have had maybe 2/3 FWBs over the last year. One for 2/3 months and one for almost a year. Be willing to take your time with the friendship and do not pressure them for anything. One we had sex the first night, another it took around 2 months to do it.

Same here, better than tinder in China imho but i targeted a different "group" of girls - just been to the trade fair in Guangzhou for a week: I got more matches than I could handle in that short time. I do think 10 years ago it was more easy for a non ethnic Chinese , to find a chinese gf.
Mentality regarding foreigners has somehow changed i believe.

Foreign born chinese,  including taiwanese and HK, they were before grand prize for girls, not as much now.

I agree with Jasontrump that parents want their daughter ideally to be a rich chinese from the same province/city,  with apartment. And many chinese girl don't marry for love.

That being said, that didn't stop me from having many chinese gfs, ONS,  even a booty call.
And UncleDad is right, I know a lot of foreigners married with chinese, or also have chinese gfs.

There here are still groups that are more likely to go for foreigners BF,  serious or not :

- Some Students and fresh graduates, newly working, some young girls away from home,  the short time frame where they want to play and have fun, going to clubs, KTV's, experience sex before getting serious.
-girls from late 20's and up, who are not married, called shengnv (leftovers) in China.
-Girls looking for language exchange partners


And let's not forget girls that cheat BF or husband,  and those looking for yiyeqing (ONS)
So there's still plenty of fish in the sea for those who want something else than wgs.


I agree, It's better.  even if i wasn't always.
After some time, girls may start to think it can become more serious.
I use to say to gfs that i am against marriage, or that i will not marry before living several years with a girl.
