Raids in Macau usually try to catch people who have overstayed their visas since the Macau government is clamping down on this.

I think the fine line of what does and doesn't count as prostitution is completely irrelevant to goons like this.  If you're in the room with a naked girl (or mor likely just in the building) then they'll count you guilty if they feel like it.  That would be my expectation.

I was told if I was caught in China with a naked girl who is not my wife, I could be charged with soliicitating a prostitute.  I would be fined and a big obvious stamp will be stamped in my passport.  Ppl told me after they were caught, they had to throw away their passport, then go to the consulate in HK to get a new passport.  There was no way they wanted to carry a tainted passport with them.  Can you imagine being stopped in the immigration dept in Europe/N.America and being accused in participating in the sex slave trade?

I dont know if these tales are true as I heard them years ago, but they do stick in my head everytime I am in China.

Getting a new passport may be one thing, but the painful thing would be that you would
be banned from entering the Mainland for a period of time. And even after that time has
passed, there could be some inconvienent questions to answer at the Chinese Immigration
Borders when you seek entry again i think...
