OK, this is my final post before I leave the forum. I’d like to say it’s been fun but, for the most part, it’s been very disappointing. Maybe I expected too much from a forum of guys who think with their dicks rather than their heads. I really admire the few intelligent and reasonable senior bros like Marsupial, DArtagnan, CunningLinguist, hunter and few others who make the forum worth reading. But, for me, enough is enough.

I’ve been asked a few times, “what’s wrong with the forum”. Number one is the OLD FART and small minded fascists like him. People who try to stamp out any kind of debate because they don’t have the wits to take part. All they can do is ridicule those who do and hand out negative K because they don’t like what others have to say.

Quite a while ago, I promised myself that I would never respond again to the OLD FART because he’s too pathetic a weasel to waste my time on. But, since this is my last visit and my last post ….

Swan, you truly are a petty-minded maggot of gigantic proportions. You’ve sunk to depths even lower than I thought was possible for any human to sink. You’re a coward, a bully and you’re stupid.  Fortunately, I’ve spent most of my life in competitive sports and I don’t meet people like you because they get weeded out pretty quickly and end up whimpering on the sidelines.

So, OLD FART, and your cronies, prove me right and do the only thing your pea-brains are capable of and spew out all the negative K you want because I won’t be here to see it. And if you have any left over, you can stick them where the sun don’t shine – unless it’s too sore from all the dicks you’ve had up there.

after a post like that you'd better not reply to my comment here, otherwise you completely lose what's left of your credibility.  

This forum has all sorts, including yourself.  It's not supposed to be good at anything or for anything other than the single purpose we all come here for: getting more sex and better sex.  That's a pitch that attracts thousands of guys.  As a result of the anonymity, it includes some personalities that clash with each other.  

Those who can tolerate what they find here, stay and thrive.  Those who can't, either leave or are asked to leave.  

Will miss you though, pity you had to make your issues personal!

And there are some on here to brag... anonymously!! We all have egos, but instead of using the opportunity afforded by anonimity to be honest, some use it for ego-boosting, which is even sadder than ego-boosting in the real world!

Lenny: Hope you get as much out of the forum as you need in lurkerdom. At least it'll build your tolerance levels!

Oh Lenny, you've really shot yourself in the foot this time. Not only have you done yourself the disservice of taking everything so personally that you can't enjoy the forum, but you've burnt your bridges too... Lenny, why are you “scuttling” away (as you referred to me leaving the forum last year) and sulking. I think you are wrong to go in this manner. Your farewell message seems like a disgruntled child having a go at SWAN. Come on Lenny, everyone has their own opinion, you are just taking this far too personally. No matter what I think of you (which isn’t good) and as much as you have a personal grudge against me, I still think you shouldn’t leave. The forum is great source of information and for sharing experiences, where on earth will you find another forum like this in Asia, let alone the World.

I’m betting that you come back as another registered member to check out what’s being said, this forum is far too tempting not to return!!.

yeah, I bet Lenny will be back in one form or another, his ears are burning for sure. Maybe we should put an RA20 on this thread so he can't read it without registering and earning a little K?

Lenny, it's a shame to see anyone leave the forum due to disagreements, especially ones that seemed to have just snowballed out of minor points. I agree with free speech but giving some respect and not resorting to personal attacks/abuse is not so hard, it's certainly a sign of maturity. The anonymity of the forum makes it easy to get carried away and once the words are out it's difficult to take them back. You also need a thick enough skin to take what you dish out, and in Lenny's instance he had his fair share of giving out the latter.

Maybe instead of shooting from the hip there may be occasions where it's best to follow the old business practice and write out that response in the heat of your anger but keep it in your draft's tray until the morning. Editing it with a cool head often feels better, you may even decide it's better not to send it after all.

It's undeniable that towards the end, Lenny was being unfairly hammered with -K (see post #31 in the Goose thread in the Forum Affairs section for an egregious example of unfair -K). I tried to explain in an earlier post that being hit with -K is particularly dispiriting and how the senior members - those who, unlike Lenny, can give neg K - should be more circumspect in nuking fellow members. But towards the end, Lenny was being slammed no matter what he said, so why the fuck would he want to hang around. Put yourself in his shoes, isn't it better to walk away with a little dignity than to be slowly whittled away by a few people you don't respect? No one was listening to him anyway.

Those of you who hated the guy will no doubt welcome his departure - and wasn't that the point of the -K anyway, to get him to quit? - however, the forum has lost one of only a handful of contributors.

His posts didn't start out nasty, but only become so as the result of all the miscommunication - in the end, really nothing more than a clash of arguing styles.

And Froddo, all that wise advice could just as easily apply to some of the guys who were on the other side of those arguments with Lenny, those who, unlike Lenny, used their power to shower opponents with -K as a substitute for intelligent rebuttal.

It's only a forum, I can honestly say that nothing I say or things said to me on this forum affects me in anyway except for when I need a good guide in HK for some good sex.  I've had spats but they are so minor that it never really bothers me, internet is taking over our lives if it can interfere with our real feelings.  I hope Lenny comes back, I mean seriously, it's a forum for god's sake.  Coming with a new nick is ridiculous, I can honestly say I only have one login nick and there is no reason to hide behind other nicks to join again.

A handful?  It all depends on how you define contributor.  The soul of this forum are the reports.  

Anyway, I feel -K ultimately started after he dissed a contributor about his choice of girl, as well the racial taunt, thinking that the poster was a muslim.  The message was clear.  Definitely not ambiguous.  I personally didn't see this as miscommunication.

The reports may be the "soul" of the forum, but they're not it's brain. In fact, for the most part, I've stopped reading the reports. Forgive me, but after a while, these accounts all sound the same; they could be churned out by intelligent software and I might not notice the difference. Anyway, I've had sex before, I know how it's done, and I'm not in HK to take advantage of any of the better WG's even if I wanted to. For me, the only really interesting action in this forum is in the discussions in the Q&A, Chat, etc sections. And there really aren't that many contributors who make interesting posts to the non-report sections. (Surely you're all flattered by inclusion in this elite group.)

Look, I'm not painting Lenny as some kind of innocent schoolkid gunned down in a drive-by shooting in a neighborhood turf war (tho the turf-war analogy is not altogether inaccurate). But this whole situation got way out of hand, and Lenny isn't the only one at fault.Yes he made more than his share of dumb, hurtful comments, but there are members here who have said far nastier things without anyone neg-K'ing them to hell and back. The difference is that with Lenny it became a contest of hitting a guy when he's down so as to make a good show for the other members. That, in itself, would not have driven Lenny away; it was the -K, against which there is no effective means of reply, that finally convinced him to quit the forum.

(btw, I'm sure the Mod Only section of the forum would make interesting reading these past few days - anyone in the Mod Squad want to give me temporary access? )

Mar, I respect your position with regard to certain things.  

The "deactivated" thread was definitely the hot spot of activity....Kings and above came from far and wide.

You'l be surprised to know that even though the topic of Lenny has come up in the mods section
the discussion was very limited, almost everything came up in the 2 open threads where the heated exchanges were.

mars, you seem obsessed with this neg K thing ... while I might agree with you that giving out neg Ks needs
more dicsression, lenny was not carpet bombed and the neg Ks he received did nothing to alter his status in this forum.
Basically, I believe lenny wasn't thick skined enough but I wished he carried on here, as to what chased him away
in my mind was not the neg Ks but the fact that he had to fight his battles on many fronts with so many coming on
line to oppose him. The only thing good about lenny leaving was I don't have to look at his avatar again !!!

The avatar was a bit too close to kiddie porn for my liking. I know that some women look young, and some women look like boys, but that photo did concern me a little.

I don't think that Lenny was really singled out... I think he made unpopular comments, but was too stubborn to simply agree to disagree. Feeling victimised and actually being victimised are very different things.

I'm sure his feelings were real, but he essentially accused members of being karma whores and dreamt up a conspiracy against him
