Back in HK in May and was wondering if Neptune II was reopening, not my favorite bar but had some good times in there and would be good if it was back up and running. Also another bar to stop in on the Wan Chai pub crawl is always good

I'm going to be back in April/May myself and was hoping the same thing. Had some great times there. Surely someone has news?

By the way, Cruman if we are there at the same time let me know if you want to meet up for a drink one night for a monger
I don't know my schedule yet.

Walked by there last Sunday afternoon.  While the rest of the street was bustling, the roll-down door was down with no sign of activity.  The neon signage IIRC is also gone.

Dammit!  I would have bought that sign and hung it in my garage!!!!!    Neptune II.  Sigh.  I paid for that sign many times over....   

(course, trying to explain "why the frickn giant sign??!!" to my family would have been tough...  hehe).  

I cant imagine walking down Jaffe Road and not seeing it.  

End of an era.

I recall my first nite ever in Wanchai.  I walked into Fenwicks (now Escape) solo and quickly turned and walked the fuck out!!!  Holy shit!  Too intense!  I had never encountered such a blatant show of wanton debauchery.  I was afraid to be seen there!  Haha.  

But yeah, I learned to love it quickly.., Too much, perhaps.  Indeed one could say I became "part of the scene" myself...., man....   the times I had, the gals I met.  (And the Bros too!  Some cool times!).  I've walked away with many memories, I'll tell you that!   

Funny thing...  when I think of specific Wanchai bars now, I think of specific gals:  Neptune II is Mai (God, she was beautiful.  And we went strangely intense during our few years together.  All reported here.).  Makati is my DHs Angelia and Emy (and Lenny) and, and...  Joe Banana's is C, my stunning Dong C - a super women if ever I met one.  And, of course, Amazonia is Joann - my love.  I'm still in love with her.

I hear reports now that Wanchai is not what it was.  I am sure it will bounce back.  Ebb and flow.  Like most things...   

And I'll be back!  Can't wait.
