What is the best way to transfer blackberry address book to HTC phone.

I am tired of paying the "Blackberry tax" and want to switch to HTC or Android phone. But is there an easy way to transfer my Blackberry based address book to any of these new phones? Or am I stuck to Blackberry for life unless I want to manually transfer contact lists from blackberry to another phone? Any advice?

Do you use outlook contacts?  First try synching your blackberry with the blackberry manager.
if you only want to export your bb contacts to a CSV file and you have desktop manager try the following (open desktop manager and plug your bb to your pc)
1- Click intellisync.
2- Click Configure PIM.
3- Select Address book.
4- Click Choose.
5- From the available applications select: ASCII Importer / Exporter
6- In Operation: select export
7- in file name: create a destination fiename with a CSV extention.
8- Click Ok.(2)
9- on the intellisync window click synchronize now.

hope this will help

... following which HTC syncs very nicely to Google Contacts, and so (presumably) will Android ...

once you're on Google Contacts, you can sync with a wide range of phones, you can deduplicate very effectively, your contacts are permanently backed up, not to mention updating with gmail contacts as you go.
