Winning ~5 buy-ins isn't that unusual, but sure, as you say time will tell.  If I buy in 3,000 HKD and can't at least triple up, then I don't consider it very good day at all.

Come on March 1-8, I'll likely be there to participate in the Red Dragon event.

I don't think I'll ever turn pro, it's better to be 1/1000 of Bill Gates than to be Phil Ivey.

Good luck with your gaming.

yeah, I'll be in that vicinity around mid-late Feb. All the WG's say I look younger than I am when I tell them my age. But like a woman, I'm not inclined to reveal my age.

poker is about skills and luck but more skills according to me
the art of bluffing and calculating the probabilities.
also taking risks and know how to bluff your way out
being a pro gambler must be the job of heaven...

It's very interesting to find such theme on this forum!=))
So i'm playing poker time-to-time... online ( not offline ) cause in Russia from last year offline - it's impossible ( or near impossible ).
But i'm not a "gambler" or " moron" and have + bankroll. but not too much.
Perhaps few years later - it can be my main activity... but for this moment... it's not so interesting for me to spend whole day near PC =))) I'd like to see people.. in real !=))) Also i'm a professional photographer - and for this moment - it's much more interesting for me... not only as for money - but for my character!=)))

just play it for fun then...
the game is developing all the time... the game only gets harder and harder...

i remember watching high stakes poker season 1.. and Daniel Negraunu was like sooo good.....  but now hes just a fish who cant fold his hands even know when he knows hes beat...
the so called best players of the world: Daniel Negraunu, Mike Matusow, Doyle Brunson, Berry Greenstein, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari etc  are just "ok" players in 2010

the game in asia will get better and better too.. but atm its still a donkeyfarm

I don't know what makes it so unbelievable.  I played for 10+ hours a day, the tables were extremely soft because of the holiday season, and frankly speaking, I don't think I'm a bad player.

One guy alone dropped 70k on the 10/20 in a span of 3 hours.  I took almost 23k off that guy alone.  If you need confirmation of that, ask the dealers about the crazy VIP bacarrat guy who declared one table the "ALL-IN" table, where he went all-in every hand, max buy in, without looking at his cards.  And it was nothing to him, I saw the regular casino chips he was sorting through, he had at least 1M HKD in loose chips.

I do think however, you guys are underestimating how loose some of the players in this poker room are.  I've been involved in multiple multi-way pots where everybody goes in, and they are holding nothing better than TPTK half the time, if even that much.

The super tight, nitty players you talk about, yes there are several, but if you are a good LAG player (not my typical style btw) then you should be constantly winning, and taking 1,500 HKD off the table per hour is easy.  Frankly speaking, if you can't win at least 800 HKD / hour off these tables on average, you need to brush up on your skills before playing live.

To do this though, you need good discipline, and the ability to fold KK when confronted by multiple opponents.  I've seen countless people here push with QQ when faced with a raise and a re-raise from early positions.  And I can't count how many people will push all in with AKs.  If this sounds familiar, then you should evaluate your play and realize that's why winning 15k off the 10/20 seems impossible.

That being said though, I do realize I had a good run in Macau last trip, I won't deny it.  However, I didn't rely on incredible luck to win, even in the tournaments I was rarely behind when flipping the cards over.  Play as long as I have (almost 15 years) and you might have an easier time believing.

And "BROWN GUY"?  That's a horrible description.  The only guy that comes to mind would be the relatively large Portugese national who lives in Macau.  He's a little swarthy and a very tight player.  He usually wins, but not a lot.

just one more month, time will tell...

im still in for any type of sidebet, please have one with me.. if its really so easy to  u, if ur going to play in march anyway, why not earn some more from me?

anyway this was what i was talking about: you need superfishes to be able to have such a run..
"One guy alone dropped 70k on the 10/20 in a span of 3 hours.  I took almost 23k off that guy alone. "
How many times in your "career" of 15 years playing have you seen someone who loses 70k on a 10/20  let alone it was in 3 hours...

Often enough that I know exactly how to play these kind of players.  In fact, a large proportion of bacarrat players play a similar style, and to their thinking, why not... it's gambling to them anyways.

I have no idea why you are blowing it all out of proportion.  Whether you believe me or not, it's up to you, and I really don't care which way you think.

As for the side bet, get it through your head that I'm not interested in betting with people I don't know.  Is that such a hard concept to grasp?  But by all means, sit down at my table and let's see if you can hang onto your chips.

Honestly though, if you are telling me that your record take in a month is 110k, and you think the 10/20 is too small (ie you typically play larger stakes), then I already have a pretty good idea how good or bad you are.

Lastly, it's not a career, and I don't think about poker as "earning".  I play it for fun, so all your posturing to me is basically ridiculous.  I suggest you improve your game, as it's your primary source of income, and stop trying to get into sidebets with people you don't know.  You are definitely watching too much TV poker to even offer such retarded sidebets.

Just returned from a trip to Macau.  Action at the Grand Lisboa was much softer than at the Wynn.  The Wynn was full of seasoned regulars from what I could see.  Failed to profit at either unfortunately.  I think the key to enjoying poker is playng for entertainment, and hoping to stay even.  Any profits are just a bonus.

Yup, the Wynn is generally a tougher game, but it's the only place in town where you are almost guaranteed to find a 50/100 game going at any time of day.

You might want to check out Starworld as well, prettier waitresses make losing more fun.
