Oh sure, to the newbies/members - karmas ARE ALL IMPORTANT - but once one reaches RA 30 - what's the big deal?  I mean, karmas = post credits and thus totally within our own control - just by writing more posts.

Acceptance points.... man... these are only taken and given by OTHERS!!  Totally beyond your control and many times given by those who cannot give karmas!!  And there's absolutely nothing one can do to "earn" acceptance points!!

And the acceptance point rating of a newbie is what I first check before I rate.  
If he's negative - he's probably offended previously.
If he's postive - he's "probably" OK.

Whaddya think??

True someone should be able to advise the newbies but without the title of mod, newbies just wont see it as a friendly warning. They will see it and say "who the fuck is this guy giving me negs and telling me what to do". That's my beef. with teh mods, they can do what they feel is necessary. if you're so resolved in your idea to guide the newbies, maybe we should elevate you to new MOD and you can do your thing with them. I would nominate you for sure

personally though, I could care less what the newbies do. If they post one liners all day, then I will neg them but I can just easily ignore it and jsut read the insightful posts.

I agree with my pissman here. We've been through a lot together lately and it is very unfair that we get docked unfairly for views that contradict our own. Both of us have been through it and we know how it feels. I dont know about pisser, but I get very upset when I see members give me neg acceptance points and I want to know who it was and why they gave it to me.

I cannot see a Mod as having any fun at all here. Always thought of as being the heavy - whether deservedly or not!!

But as far as a regular member doing negs - if MORE of us do it, and it becomes the accepted way on sex 141, then I don't see the problem.  And that is what I'm sayijng - it's ALL our responsiblity as well as anybody else's to make OUR forum even better.

You say I'll just ignore the one liners - and I say - you let one liners get away with it - they'll never know that that what they're doing is nonsense and that they'll never be able to participate in the back and forth that makes our forum enjoyable.  They'll never develop the sense of belonging and will probably just stop posting after they reach RA 30 and become a lurker.  What's the point?

And what's gonna happen to you reading all the "insightful post" - what insightful posts if all we get is one liners?

At one point I was at -170 Acceptance. Does that make me a non credible member at that time? Like pisser said, credible members who enraged senior members will take the brunt of their might but I was resilient and was not going to let them bully me. But can you say that of others who might not be as stubborn and tenacious as me, who might otherwise quit the forum or contribute less because they feel that what they write will offend. So you also have to take that into consideration. Acceptance are important but I dont think it means members are not credible.

senior members will neg one-liners when they want to. I dont think it can be forced upon them to do it. I guess we should definitely all help, but it's up to the senior bros if they want to or not.

HALF guilty as charged - as I do know that you did write about it previously.  But OTH - I also wrote about it even before you when somebody pointed out that I got less karmas than credit - thus indicating that I'm ..???  Countered with nyah nyah nyah - I got more acceptance points than you!!

And as far our giving neg points - YES I agree if one just neg a newbie and write a one liner which cannot fully explain why he got negged.  If you neg him ACCEPTANCE points (which a newbie is not all that concerned with vs. karma points) AND then tell him where he went wrong and tell him what is expected etc. then I believe that such -a can only be of service/help to him. No?
