Question on KTVs in Asia

Bros, sorry for another naive question but this is about the KTVs.

Just returned from 5 weeks on the mainland and 1 week in Japan.  Saw many many KTVs all over in the bigger cities.  I only visited one with my SO and her family. ( !!! )   Needless to say it did not matter what beauties I saw once inside the front door,  I would not be having any.  The leash my SO had on me was about 1 cm. long.  

So the question, do the bros ever go to a KTV as a single man or is it always with a group of mates ?  From the little I saw, it seems the rooms are more oriented for a group to go together and sample the beverages and ladies.  

Just wondering.

it is definitely more fun in groups.

But it is definitely not unheard of for single guys to go in, get a room, pick 6 girls, and party it up like that.
And you will need to pick multiple girls as there are minimum charges for the ktv rooms, and you wouldn't be able to start a party with just 2 or 3 people.
I.e. it will be plenty more expensive than partying with a group, but whatever floats your boat...
