Still doesn't sit well.  You wouldn't have to ban Chinese people from going to a place they dont enjoy.  They just wouldn't go.., and the occasional one who did go wouldn't be a problem.

AND there is a solution.   We know what anyone can do to counter the prejudice: build up a personal reputation with the bar.   Go there when it's not busy, spend some cash.  Go there again, spend some more cash.  The racism may make it easier for a caucasian to get the ball rolling, or easier for an Asian to get in that first time when accompanied by a caucasian, but in the end it's what everyone is expected to do.  And once they recognise you, they seem to be fair handed.   And I'm not saying I think the system is perfect - but at least there's something anyone can do. They are almost always Filipino or Nepali. So, the idea that they are discriminating against their own is a bit off... I'm not even sure who owns the clubs,but the staff at most places seems to be invariably Filipino as well. So... It's not Chinese vs Chinese as you seem to see it. The racial based cover charges still suck. They have never charged me, and I'm mostly white, but that may just be mostly luck. I do tend to dress well, maybe that makes a difference, but I doubt it.
