Tried ignoring him and looking for a stairwell but found none. He persisted and I felt awkward standing there with a bunch of people staring at me so I left. There a back stairs? What's the protocol here?

Once you're on the first floor though there will be a staircase that goes to the third where there are like 3 WGs. I've not been asked to sign the sheet but have seen someone do it, did he ask for ID as well? Maybe you could just sign with whatever and go up.

I know civilians live there and that's what his real job is, so I'm sympathetic...it's just I don't know the protocall.

This reminds me of Sun Kai Mansion, though I wasn't in Hong Kong when the security guard began demanding that visitors sign in. What's to stop you from putting down a fake name? Do they check your ID? What's to stop you from giving a fake excuse? If you know the building then say you're visiting xyz restaurant or xyz shop or whatever.

#8 Post at 15-7-2013 08:22  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Yeah, there is a back stairwell. Just keep walking straight, past the guard and you will see it on your right, before the back alley. Since we are talking about FH Southern Building, anyone know why most of the Thais are gone? The rooms all have the last batch's name still up, but the doors are all wide open with sheets, towels, and other items stacked up. Gone. A few hallways are still active but seemed to be mostly Chinese. Even Mina, who is still listed on the 3rd floor, had an open, empty door. Where did the Thais go? Anyone know what is up?
