Need help to set up a poll

I'm trying to set up a poll but I can't pull it off.

I'm clicking on the "New" button with "poll" menu just under this button. Then I have a normal new thread page with an extra box for Poll answers. I enter one answer per line. Then I submit the new poll thread,  but all I get is a normal new thread with no poll on top of it. I still don't get it why I fail. ,
