Two different cities, two different environments, two different prices. You seem to have no personal experience shopping in both locations, because there is a huge discernable difference when buying a quality diamond ring at retail. #64 Post at 25-2-2010 23:46  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L you know you can't look at just the 4c or even the whole gia cert right?  u can have what seemingly a good stone cert wise but there are issues with the facets & the table ratio %  right?  Are you familiar that many large chains purchase in large parcels that have somewhat subpar quality?  That subpar quality attributes to discounting which makes it appear prices are "cheaper"   I do agree that the environment (hence talk about overhead) & taxes does result in lower prices from city to city.  Though you make valid points, you don't seem to recognize my points either.  I've personally dealt a lot on diamonds & even have training in viewing stones personally years ago. I am very confident I've seen a wide variety of stones both abroad & where I currently located.

#67 Post at 1-3-2010 13:24  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L RICO went to a few jewelery shops in Hong Kong but "FUCKING HELL"...I got pestered as soon as i walk through the door...I know the sales people work on commision but "FUCK ME"..It was a bit over the top... I couldn't get a moment of peace without them butting in... So i lefted empty handed... But i was expecting the same kind of treatment in the LV shop...(I think it was in Central...)..When the wife wanted a bag....But how was i proved wrong....They are totally professional in there and there was this sales person in there called Chris who was so helpful..(Not pushy at all..) RICO bought four LV bags.... I even walked into a rolex retailer and walked out as soon as i got that pushy treatment..( RICO wanted to see the Jacque Clouseau black submariner...)
