Do any of you go arcades?

Yes? No?

What's your favourite arcade place in HK?

There's one in the basement of causeway bay plaza two that I would go to once every while when I was bored as hell.. not really my thing though.

No, not really my thing

Did go into one once, which was a net cafe also. After a while, a group of guys came in and they played
some really loud cantopop on their comps which i found really annoying. I found some good old Grunge music to drown theirs out which i think they got pretty pissed off about. Then they raised the volume of theirs, i did the same until my ears almost fell off

Arcades seem to be a thing of the past, either for teenage hooligans to gather or just a date-destination for teenage couples to 'do stuff together' before going on to do the serious stuff, together.

These days its all about home gaming~

Sometimes, APM at Kwun Tong. I was obliged to be with my bro who's playing Battle Gear ( Car Game ) twice a month. I'm just into home and portable gaming nowadays.

I think it depends on what you're into. I've been to a few in CWB and Wan Chai before.  Problem is they reek of smoke and you're not really enjoying the games as opposed to constantly competing with some other person so the arcade can milk you for more money.  Some are pretty damn small too.  The CWB one is one of the bigger ones.  Or you can go to the one in WTC if it's still there.  Pretty expensive, but quite clean.

Ah.... arcade...
brings back memories of waiting in line, to challenge the current winner of StreetFighter or Mortal Kombat...

to be honest, I want to get one of those classic glass table game machines that have Ms. Pacman and Galaga for my dad...
He's old school and only plays those early 80's arcade games...

I think I am way too old to go into arcades anymore, I don't think there is one Chinese kid in NYC who used to frequent Chinatown Fair on Mott St and Penn Station for the ultimate arcades back in the 80s.  I do go with my kids though.

even though there is a no smoking regulation, people still smoke in there. every time I go to the arcade under cwb one, its reeking of smoke. I do have to admit that the smoke level is better than it was before without the smoking regulation. It at least helped a little bit

Gundam Senjou no Kizuna

Pornaddy, check this game out in while you're in Tokyo: http://www.gundam-kizuna.jp/english/game/index.html
4 on 4 gundam team battle. I played it a couple years ago when I was there. Awesome.

Here's an overview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxc38nlGfA0&feature=related

Now if they combine this with the 3D gyroscope motion thing, that'd be freak'n crazy.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

You just reminded me of Battletech!
There used to be a Virtual World center in Newport Beach, CA that I used to go to with my friends...
Expensive (I think it was USD$10 a game?), and a long wait... plenty fun though!

I use to love the arcades when I was a kid, but I haven't been to one in many many years. My favorite games are the shooting games, then fighting games, and lastly racing. It's really a expensive hobby when I was a kid, but now that I work I think it's pretty cheap entertainment compared to gambling lol.

Yeah I go to arcades,
But lately it seems like the owners are putting in games where you win things rather than Video Games.
I guess people are playing their consoles at home so arcades have to offer other type games.
