Urethra Problem, Need help please.

Hi all,

I have a urethra problem lately and have had a small drop of white/yellow discharge last month for about a few days. Thought it was Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, so I went to the government hygiene clinics for a checkup, took swabs and a HIV blood test and the results all came back negative. During the time I was waiting for the results, the discharge stopped but I've been getting an itchy Urethra, which is annoying and also after I urinate, there is always drops of urine that gets stuck in my Urethra so I have to milk it out (Urinary incontinence). I told this to the doctor at the hygiene clinic and they told me to get it checked out somewhere else.

The question I want to ask is, do I have to visit a clinic that specializes in Urology? or can I go to any medical centers?

Thanks

http://www.std-hiv-clinic.hk

Go see this website and make an appointment. I went and they are very professional. Results in a couple/few days.
Good luck man!

Do you know were and how you contracted this?

Go back and question whoever you suspect may have been the source.

Thanks, but thats not the question. I wanted to know if I can get it checked out in a normal clinic / medical center that doesn't specialize in urology. Im sure its not STI related, as i've got negative results for those.

It's either what you thought it was, or a related cousin to it. Or, it's what they call a "non specific" urethritis. The good thing is that the treatment for any of this stuff is the same. You can go to any reasonably competent clinic that has foreigner doctors. You don't need to visit a specialty place. Or you could just treat it...2g of azithromycin and no sex for a week. Any Chinese pharmacy will give it to you. If you go to a doctor they will give you 1 gram via a shot, then another gram in pill form. Technically they are supposed to report it, too...but most don't. If you have a regular partner, they will need treatment as well. It's easy for girls to carry it without any symptoms so while she says she feels fine, she can still pass it to you again and again.

all members, please do not give advice on treatment or cures for anything … none of us are equipped to do this over a forum !

In hk one usually goes to a gp and if he is unable to provide treatment he will refer you to a specialist
private doctors will usually be faster then going to government clinics. Please go to a GP !

As you've discovered the government tests only cover the most malignant STIs,
and they don't care about your health if you don't have one of the infections they test for ... but it's great for peace of mind

From that startpoint, the fact is all roads lead to Rome, so just pick one of the options and go ... If you go to a GP, he'll either prescribe or refer you ... and if you go to a specialist clinic they'll do their tests which may or may not be conclusive, same as the government clinic

You could cover all the bases simply by going to NeoHealth in Central
http://www.neohealth.com.hk/en/hk-sexual-health-centre.html

They'll screen other STIs that the government don't screen for
in fact, they'll be delighted to suggest a range of tests
because you pay for each one they do

Good luck

Went to a GP today, and the doctor said it was UTI and told me there is nothing to be worried.
Prescribed me some medication. Will take it and hopefully it goes well.

One last thing.

Got prescribed 2 medications, and one of them says on the label: "消炎止痛需要時服" I can work out what it means but the I am confused with the last 4 characters: "需要時服".
Can someone that know how to read Chinese please help me?
I'm not sure if it means, that the pills can be taken when necessary(when there's irritation), or whether it must be taken in full course even if there is no irritation?

Thanks

The best thing to do is to ask your GP who prescribed the medicine ... he's obliged to let you know every detail
