Credit cards at Saunas

Hey, anybody know any Saunas in Macau that accept AMEX?

Lost my cards last weekend, so not enough cash for punting.

Will take another week to get my Visa cards here, but AMEX was fast.

At least I know I can buy dinner at a casino...

Most will take credit cards but not sure about Amex. I definitely know East or Sanadodon't accept Amex.

Moving your post to q&a since it's more related there.

Saw you moved it - thanks, my bad. Was in the Chat section when the question came to me...

I've had no problem using Visa or MC. But overall there is certainly a lack of places in general to make use of the AMEX.

No problem

Problem with Amex is their admin charges are higher than visa or mc which retailers have to absorb.

Right.

In Singapore it was more widely accepted but sometimes the shop would add 2 or 3 percent to cover some of that fee and I would gladly accept the upcharge for the convenience.

Yes I think Visa and Mastercard are 2.5% whereas AMEX is 3.25%... something on those lines...

Your best bet is go to the bigger lux saunas/hotels mostly likely accept all major cards, if in doubt.... Ask!

Very brave of you to charge the sauna activity. You probably know there is a record.  If someone else see it, you might get in trouble.  I have used a credit credit like you once because I didn't have enough money.

One time I was in China in a hotel leaving paying the bill, my card didn't go thur.  I had used it a few times already during my trip.  I was real pissed off.  Lucky I just had enough cash to pay. I told them to take it out of the security deposit on the credit card when I first check in. They said no which I didn't know why.

When I got back home, I called the credit card company. They gave a dumb excuse about my card being compromise.  In other words, I think someone got a hold of my credit card number and try to use it.

My credit card companies keep freezing my account whenever I use them while travelling (even within the US) due to their "anti-fraud" protection. It's a major pain in the ass since my card has never been misplaced/misused in my many years of having it.

You should always call the CC before you travel. Tell them where and the dates.  There is a sofware an algorithm where it detects frauds for your own protection.

do you have the PIN for your new AMEX?
if yes, go to an ATM to withdraw some cash.
those ATMs in the Casinos (e.g Venetian) accept almost any card in the world, as long as you have the pin.

Don't have the pin for the new card yet. Always a lag in getting those after the card is issued.

However, Western Union came through today, so I'm back in business.

Watch out ladies, I've got a week of missed mongering to let out of the cage!

I was just thinking that too. These harges are tracked and if u have someone at home that mighy go tbru ur bill it is pretty bad. Maybe u shoukd wait for a card to ckme tben use cash. N u never know how people in china are. They migt do some identity fraud. Either way be safe

Sorry to resurrect this old post, but does anybody know if FN sauna accepts Mastercard? I'm planning a visit this Sunday. TIA.

I believe they do.  I was just there and payed by card, although it was UnionPay.  However I think I remember they did accept Visa/MC.

To the old topic... I once lost my MC on the mainland and my US bank overnighted me a new card.  It took about 40 minutes on the phone to verify I really was who I said I was and why I wanted a card sent to China, but I had informed them ahead of time that I would be there, and really they were very helpful.  I don't think they even charged me for it.
