A friend was corresponding with a Russian girl on the internet. They connected thru Lavalife. She claimed to be a university student who was from
a small town in Russia (I forgot where). She stated that she was getting ready to travel the world and that Vancouver would be her first stop.
She inform him that she wanted to meet new people and would need someone to show her around Vancouver. This is when he told me this
was going on.

I didn't want to burst his bubble but told him to be careful.
A week later she send him an email saying she's in Moscow and having problem with her visa and if he could send her some money to help with her visa problems.

My friend calls me and tells me about it and that's when I have to let him know that I know its a scam and that all that he/she is after is his money. After telling him what I think he agrees with me and thanks me for opening his eyes.
A couple of weeks later my friend phones me and tells me he didn't take advice. Apparently she sends him another email with a sob story which he
believed and he sent her some money. He tells me that he was at the airport the day before waiting for her at the airport and she was a no show.
I told he What the Fu.k was he thinking and how much did he send her !!! It turn out he sent her $3000 in total (A lot of money for my buddy)
It turns out she sent him more then one email asking for money after he sent her money the first time. I felt bad for my my buddy so that weekend I
set him up with one of my favorite sp. It made him feel a little better but not much.
So my friend when dealing with a person thru the internet and money is involved be careful it's probably a scam !!
