Funny story... You cousin is learning fast.

Brothers have to learn to punt without any strings attached.

How can a pandaboy read and not touch?? It's impossible.
At least I think I would never be able to do that.

Pandaboy don't lie to a fellow brother!

Some questions/ one theory* I have is about the colour of the website - i.e. pink.

In short:

Guys are 'known' to 'hate' or at least avoid pink, or so goes the popular theory.

Women are 'known' to like pink, or so goes the popular theory.

So, in my opinion, a woman is very likely to notice a wholly pink website that a guy is surfing, even if she isn't really looking for it.

My question - and I am a newbie here, so I would like to stress that I ask with all respect - Should the colour of the website be changed as a basic security precuation, to something 'duller' and 'safer'?  (BTW, some forums give you the option to do so).

* The theory is based on comments here about their SOs noticing the pink colour.  Also, I have noticed my SO looking at my laptop these days; she knows nothing yet (believe me, if she knows, I will hear of it   ) but I am beginning to think that she may have seen the pink colour and marked it as unusual.

A valid point ... I don't particularly like pink myself, as it attracts attention, but I don't think the colour would ever be changed, as pink is also associated with the walkup industry in HK.

Just gots to be very careful.

All the browser side non-tracking enablement doesn't help if you don't close the browser or have a peek happen over your shoulder.

For what it's worth, when I run SuperAntiSpyware on my PC, it flags cookies from this site as potentially malicious and shows them (the cookies and site name) on screen.  If a family member or SO is just doing regular PC maintenance by scanning for viruses and trojans, the site's cookies may show up for you.

sorry, I just don't buy it. Even if what you say is true, the way you deliver the message is provocative. So just about every member has to look over their shoulders, question their recent movements/activities. This is not productive, just alarmist.

Yours Sincerely,
Sculley

Thanks to Mulder we have some warning that other woman in our lives may want to peek in.  It would be good to set up a catch screen, and never view monitor in an open place.  I always suggest
the screen be not seen from the doorway of any room.

the only time I've been caught by my SO is from a reflection in glass behind me at night ... works like a mirror. I noticed some strange looks so I put something innocent on the screen and took a casual stroll around the room, nothing obvious, and was quite horrified that from the right angle I could see my screen (reflection) quite clearly. I only use a lap top so am often in different locations so it's something I always keep in mind now.

i know some bros that use a separate laptop or computer that is locked out of the rest of people to use, that seems to help deal with the fact you don't need to have all these programs loaded up to wipe out stuff that could end up wiping your important docs.

It's 2010. Why would you share a computer with anyone? It's like sharing a toothbrush.

Many families here have a shared home computer.  Need to make sure the wife and kids don't stumbles across the DB browsing history.  And reports are 100% incriminating.  Keep at it but just be careful not to get caught, takes the fun out of it.  Same principles as internet banking, don't stay logged in etc etc.

Trstany, you can enjoy fulfilling marriage / SO and still enjoy regular WGs.  The two are complimentary.  You don't fu*k you're wife like a WG and you don't (or at least shouldn't) fall in love with a WG.  I find that WGs bring balance to the force (I think Skywalker or Yoda said that once).

I agree with Paka for using porn mode in firefox and ie.  i use google chrome which i like better and offers the same thing and use the  incognito window. that way, after i'm done i just close the browser and don't worry about deleting history or cache!
