Great Places to Eat in HK

It has been a while since my last trip to HK. I was there last year but popular places to eat change on a frequent basis in HK. Any recommendations? All types of food suggestions are welcomed.
What about Macau? I've eaten at all the Buffets. Any suggestions besides from buffets?

A lot of ppl knock it, but the Australian Dairy Co in Jordan is a must try. Exit C2 in Jordan MTR. Its cheap and food is awesome HK cafe food. Service is not the best and you always seem to be rushed. But everytime in Hk we will go there 3 times a week.

i like the night market in Jordan, lots of small shops where you can sit outside and eat for cheap.  Also you usually spot WGs strolling thru.

I think I read there are 6,000 restaurants in HK so plenty of choice, these just my personal faves.

Kowloon side

Jimmy's Kitchen (great steaks, great ambiance). Ashley Rd TST. Try the Fillet Mignon or the Chicken Madras. Great wine list.
After dinner monger: Haris Bar.
LINK

Sabatini (Italian). Inside the Royal Garden Hotel TST East. Try the Lasagne. True Italian Chef. Wondering singing guitar trio.
After dinner monger: Sticky Fingers.
LINK

Miso (Delicious Japanese). Harbour City Canton Rd. Inside the Marco Polo Prince Hotel arcade. Love the sashimi, beef cubes & chicken wings.
After dinner monger: lots of walkups in Hankow Rd just 5 minutes walk.
LINK

Fat Angelos TST (Italian. 6 locations but TST is the best). Great taste, Great prices, HUGE servings.
After dinner monger: Hari's Bar or Sticky Fingers. Lots of Walk Ups on Nathan and Mody Roads.
LINK

Hong Kong Side

Jimmy's Kitchen (great steaks, great ambiance). Wyndham Rd, Central. Try the Fillet Mignon or the Chicken Madras. Great wine list.
After dinner monger: Catch a Cab to Wan Chai and do Lockhart and Jaffe Rds.
LINK

Lan Kwai Fong (an area FULL of dozens of restaurants and bars). Cantonese, Italian, Mexican, Thai, English... everything!
After dinner monger: Try your luck in the Bars in LKF or simply catch a taxi to Wan Chai and do Lockhart and Jaffe Rds.
LINK

Mes Amis (Wine Bar, Tapas, Finger Food). Lockhart Rd. Meat balls are good, as are the chicken skewers.
After dinner monger: you're on Lockhart Rd... you'll work it out.
LINK

Times Square (dozens of restaurants on the 11th & 12th floors). Causeway Bay HK. Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Italian and MORE!
After dinner monger: Catch a Cab to Wan Chai and do Lockhart and Jaffe Rds.

Thanks for the list of restaurants and also after eating activities.  I remember walking by the Jimmy's Kitchen and also Sticky Fingers but time was short and didn't have a chance to go into either places.  Hope to hit up some of your recommendations next time that I'm in HK.

I agree, I was told to try out the Dairy Co by several of my friends, however the line was always 20-30 people long.

Jimmy's Kitchen is my favourite HK restaurant. Food is great but I love the ambiance. Really nice.

Coming from NYC I would never eat the stuff you guys are recommending

We have all the same stuff here but when I am in HK I go for Chinese food and only Chinese food.  HK preparation for seafood is simply fucking DIVINE!!!!!!!!  My mouth waters just thinking about it.  Street food is next, EVERYTHING street food is the best!  Even the roast pork rices in MK is like fine cuisine in my book, there are no comparisons when it comes to Chinese food in NYC vs HK, the roast geese in HK is better than the abalone in NYC.  NYC Chinese food sucks, Toronto is going downhill and Vancouver still doesn't come close to HK.  Dai pai dong anyday brothers... you guys have no idea how good you have it.  As for Malaysian , vietnamese, italian, and everything else, we have it.  And when it comes down to steaks, nothing beats the USA but I only hanker for a good steak 2 times a year.  I would take temple street food anyday... and for breakfast?  simple rice noodle with peanut sauce eaten with toothpicks...  fuck, in NYC we can't even make cherng fun correctly.

I'm with sexpert here.  Why the fuck would you not want to eat anything else but HK/Cantonese-style food while in HK?  There are so many good dim sum and dai pai dong and huge HK-style restaurants around.

I'll start with Chao's on 1 Peking Road, 10th floor. Great views, good dim sum.

You can also go to Sai Kung to walk around. These are few great restaurants out there offered you dishes from different countries. But better not to try those Chinese seafood restaurants as they're are worth the price.

If you got the dough, I would try Fok Lam Moon.  Best Chinese ever!!!  It is in Wanchai to boot, so you can get your fuck on afterwards.

mainly because I don't think I would want to eat the same "any type of food" 10 days in a row, 14 days in a row, or whatever the length of my stay in HK. I know what HK/Cantonese food tastes like so there is no "novelty" to eating that just because I am in HK. I've been to HK 200 times. There are so many excellent restaurants in HK, for local food I like TST, LKF, Soho and Times Square.

Just thought of a major omission... For an "iconic" Hong Kong experience...

Jumbo Kingdom
This iconic HK restaurant you would have seen on post cards and in tourist magazines a hundred times.

You also enquired about Macau. Macau is great. If you want Michelin star restaurants, this is probably the only place in the world where you will never see any lines. Mostly no reservations required except for the 3-star Michelin Robuchon Restaurant at the Lisboa. Try The Kitchen, 3rd floor of the Grand Lisboa. It has the best steaks in Asia, Kagoshima beef and highest grade of Australian Wagyu beef, plus the best wine list in the world, nearly US$500 million worth in wine inventory. Worth going to the Lisboa just to look at the wine list which is the size of a telephone book. There are 4 restaurants in the Lisboa that have been awarded Michelin stars.
