Not heard about CA yet. CA has too many hotels spread across a wide range and business travellers so I think that would be highly unlikely.

There are so many articles, opinions, conspiracy theories and angles about the current crackdown that it seems impossible to really know where it goes from here. One thing seems clear - this isn't just a rerun of crackdowns past. The level of coordination, planning, provincal / national govt involvement, national news coverage, etc all suggest this is the real deal (though, like many others have expressed in recent weeks, I would like to be proven wrong and witness our beloved CP restored to mongering glory).  

After speaking with Kaleu and a few other forum friends, I called buddies in CP who confirmedmthenbadnstuffmonemhas been reading here and in the press. Yes, policeman are stationed in front of major hotels and patrolling main streets. Yes, landmark venues are totally closed across the board...sauna, KTV, foot massage parlor....you name the activity and it's closed. Large central hotels like Hiuhua and Miratin are running at 25%'or less of capacity this coming weekend. Figures were even worse this week. My friend who manage at LiHao said hotel was 10-15% of capacity throughout the week.

It must be a great time to be a consumer in CP so long as you forego the wonderful little chickens that made this shit hole into a mongering Mecca....the likes of which one could search across the continents without finding any place to equal it. The sheer number of girls of all shapes and sizes, levels of experiences, styles in bed, styles in drinking, dispositions....the ones who are GFE and love,to curl up and stay a day or two, the little lost angel who becomes emotional an asked to benhugged tight late into the night, the one who drinks tons and cracks jokes for hours before passing out, the 2 sisters who getmit on together with one blissful customer, the two sauna girls who bring their own chemistry and all their experience to bear inma session that ends like I floating on a sunny pink cloud.

Ahhh, the endless euphoric recall of life in DG. I'm already missing it and thinking of it more in terms of,what it was like than what it is right now. It's hard to imagine the wide-open atmosphere returning to the ground zero of punting. The thought of going to Macau in lieu of DG, paying for hardened older girls in expensive establishments that only allocate 50min.....just not the same after one has indulged in DG many times.

Anyway, back to all the info floating around trying to make sense of what's happening. Imcamemacrossmthis article inmSCMP that resonates with me. It seems fairly balanced and well thought out in interpreting what this all means. Hope you find it to be of interest and thanks to all you bros who are sharing well informed opinions and articles. Police have swooped 18,372 entertainment venues, including 3,592 karaoke bars and 4,201 saunas in the province. A total of 38 Karaoke bars and 156 saunas and massage parlors have been closed, said the provincial public security bureau.The new crackdown came hours after a China Central Television (CCTV) program on Sunday revealed that a dozen hotels in Dongguan city were  offering sex services.

As bad as the numbers might seem at first, they only closed 1% of the KTVs, and about 3% of the saunas.  For every 20 places inspected, one person was apprehended (and that doesn't mean arrested).  Since they usually apprehend 20+ people at a location, I can surmise they busted people at less than 46 locations, or at about 0.25% (1 in 400) of the locations they inspected.

In summary... it's not good, and maybe you should take a break, but don't blow the danger out of proportion.  Most likely you just aren't going to be able to find any action anyway.

Actually I did find a sauna in Zhuhai but I didn't take their offer. They said they can only show me one to two girls but I said no.
There were very cautions of me at the beginning.  I will write a post in a few days.

What they should do is install metal detectors to stop those pesky reporters from filming shit and have lockers for cellphone before you can view the girls and then grab your cellphone if you're leaving or going through with the girl

I see this as a very small chance of happening but I would suggest to ask the girl to dress more appropriate for the hotel. Walk in and don't attract attention to yourselves.

I am just back from spending a night in Changan with my own girl. No special security measure with the hotel, she was able to sneak in without any hassle and stayed the night. Just pick a good hotel that caters for real travellers and you'll be fine.

As a customer. I am not confident enough through wechat. Because they can put their fake picture there not real them. When we face them in person, they are different.

Tonight I went to No.9 Spa in GZ.  There are signs everywhere that they now need to see ID when you arrive, however they don't write anything down, they just look at it.  Pointless.

More importantly, they don't give a HJ with the massages anymore and you can't dim the lights in the rooms.  Business looks to be down by maybe 1/4 (it's a coed/family place) and I won't be returning until all this is over.

I was out last night a bit after midnight in Shekou and Hai Bin, Coco, and Manila were all closed.

Roughly confirms the 3month time period (till 18th May) of crackdown of Sauna, KTV, Footie
(從2月18日至5月18日，用3個月的時間，對全市桑拿、歌舞娛樂場所、沐足經營場所等三個行業，實施 全面停業整頓)

No new licenses for such outlets will be issued during the time period, all existing ones need to undergo checks.

I note however that my friend who is a Chinese lawyer says this is good news as it gives an options for KTVs, Saunas and Footies to re-open after getting relicensed from this date onwards. There is a postulation that this is a "get to know you" meet and greet session between the outlets and the new protection umbrellas.

From Feb 18 to May 18, DG will use the next 3 months to clean up the Saunas, KTVs and Entertainment Halls and Foot Massage Businesses


There's a clear stop-work order on all "yellow (sexual)" businesses that contravene the law, and every individual business will be inspected. In this time period, those businesses that have yet to be checked and opens, or fails to keep within the guidelines will be prosecuted according to the law.


The vice mayor of DG (I guess the new one since the old one was sacked - correction I just found out DG has 6 vice mayors) spoke in the meeting and lots of big-titled people came along along with many business owners.


{now this is interesting} Relying on the law to prosecute all illegal activities, Institute a holistic system to combat BLAH BLAH, control "yellow" illegal activities that might resume, eliminate the root causes, and effectively develop DG's  entertainment industry to develop harmoniously.

If this isn't a clue as to what the government wants of the DG business owners - I don't know what is. The last sentence is basically telling them that they will regulate the industry according to the standards they set and control


If you see any contravention of the above code, please contact the following numbers etc. If you contact everyone (officials) needs to arrive within 1 hour to the venue and do a serious, quick, detailed search and inspection.

1. All you ktv, sauna and foot massage places that have registered - you better suspend your business
2. All you ktv, sauna and foot massage places come to me so that we can re-inspect you and recertify you, then you can open
3. If you don't follow no.2 I will fuck you up the ass
4. As we are busy getting new bribe money from existing saunas, ktv and foot massage and need to co-ordinate it correctly, those business people who wanna open new stuff just wait until this is over than come pay me.
4b. We will make sure the process of certification is centralized and easy to apply for - once you get it you can open. So just get your act together.
5.  in order to co-ordinate investigation and implementation of the law, industry department people should share with the public security bureau any known yellow activities

I voice the same opinion as SEAJ on another forum.

This crackdown is to consolidate and regulate all vice related activities under the protection of the government. Perhaps they will make sure that all vice activities need to be located in CP instead of spread across DG, mandate health check ups and licensing for all outlets, tax all revenue, make sure that everything is kept within a standard of decency.

So my opinion is that it will return, but in a more severe muted form, with price regulation that could scale up? also perhaps BBS will be cleaned up, Saunas need to have other facilities, KTVs wont have HD etc.

I am currently in humen, the whole town seems death. I can almost find none massage parlour at all. even a proper one with just foot massage is closed. I ask the local people. they said this might last until may. : (

the most annoying thing is knocking on my hotel door to check the room.
