Hey thanks for the info...I forgot to ask the doc this..but do you know how some people that are carriers becone chronic patients? What factors will cause it? thanjks
I'm not a doctor, but as far as I know there's no special factor(s) that would make any carrier become a chronic patient. All I can recommend is not to put too much strain on your liver like drinking too much alcohol. No one in my family is chronic nor have any complications. However, as a Hep B carrier, even with antibodies, I have to get blood work done every year just in case. It's part of my usual annual checkup so really there's no difference in my life. But again, I'm fortunate to be like this.
About 75% of all Hep B carriers will never develop any issues. If I hadn't been told that I have Hep B, I wouldn't even suspect it because my entire life has been perfectly normal.
