I was searching for some vintage western porn (made in the early 1980s) on the web and was kind of surprised by the change in the way porn stars look.

Male porn stars at that time mostly had average to slightly above average size dicks, seldom had tats, weren't too muscular and didn't have their pubes shaved. The way they fucked were also less rough and 'hardcore' compared to the porn nowadays. As for female porn stars, the change is less apparent but similarly they seldom had tats and didn't shave their pubes.

I wonder why was there such a change in western porn? On the contrary you don't see such a change in Asian porn.

yes totally feel this way too. i find vintage porn so much better. less fake breasts and not totally shaved as well. nowadays i think its all about domination, power. japanese porn has way better girls, but hate the way the women seem to be in pain, not to mention the 40 mins of foreplay abusing the girl. again i think its about appealing to male viewers power needs. maybe i don't feel the need to see the woman suffer to get off.

Back in the old days male porn stars where chosen for their ability to get and maintain an erection while in the presence of a camera crew, less so because of their dick size, what's the point of having a massive dick if it stays limp while the camera's switched on? The only exception I can think of to this rule has been the decreasing popularity of the mega extreme boob job porn of the early 90's era. Sure there's loads of silicone in those porn star boobs nowadays, but it was way more extreme 20 years ago, whereas now there is more of a return to more natural looking women.

Viagra is a very good point, I actually didn't know that Viagra was only invented in the 1990s. And I agree nowadays porn is all about domination and power, that's why we see all the big dicks and muscles. But when you compare western porn with Japanese porn you'll know how they view domination and power differently.

In Japanese porn the male actor seems invisible to the viewers. I think the directors want people to focus entirely on the female, and the female display signs of submission and shyness to give men a feeling of power. While in western porn, the feeling of domination and power is driven by big dicks and muscles, and we simply don't see the shyness and submission displayed by caucasian and even Asian American actresses in western porn. But come to think of it, why does heterosexual porn need to feature attractive male actors with big dicks and muscles when the people who watch porn are mostly heterosexual guys?
