When a foreign girl walks in alone he never stopped them. I waited to see any wg looking walking in but found none.

Think about it: What do their customers have in common? They are either alone or with other guys. They are more interested in looking at girls than playing the tables. Just with these two facts, they can pick you out. And, once they've picked you out, how can they make money if they don't have the ability to get you to a room? Therefore, of course they are able to get up to your room, or take you to theirs. The security guards are there for general security reasons, not particularly to stop men from picking up girls. I think you think incorrectly You need to know that in the past hotels in China were notorious that you could go to your room, and pretty soon the doorbell would start ringing ... while it's not something that I've experienced myself I've heard a LOT about it from (ahem) a certain quarter!  Girls can be very opportunistic.   So the guy at the lift will be screening unaccompanied girls, they want to protect the reputation of the hotel for innocent guests.  As long as you have a room card, my bet is he'll be very welcoming regardless of how many girls you cram in the lift with you.
