well the hotel the Wanchai agent uses is only 2 blocks away from the Wanchai police station

Well I can only speak for my close call incident, not sure if it applies to other situations.  

They had 2 cops almost busting down the door cause I was trying to finish my 2nd Q with my chick, after I finally opened they ran right in and pushed me to the wall and threatened to charge me for wasting police time.  And it was a cop lady that was pinning me down !   She was screaming moral insults at me, and I just didn't know how to answer .  The other guy was all rough and intimidating shouting and yelling xyz's at everyone , asking what we were doing, looking for evidence, etc.  It was actually pretty scary and I'm just a little guy, but I know it's all a show to scare the shit out of you and make you tell the truth.  By then the girl was already crying , but still not admitting anything.

The cops said all they needed was enough circumstantial evidence, like why are 2 previously unrelated people in the same hotel room?  What else can they be doing?  Also they found all the condoms.  And they threatened to lay all sorts of charges on me if I didn't cooperate, like wasting police's time, or hindering police investigation, and some totally bullshit charges but I forget the details.  Of course I was willing to cooperate, told my story and that's all they needed.  Their mandarin was absolutely terrible and was just yelling at the girl for not explaining clearly, but she only spoke mandarin...  I had to step in to translate, couldn't bare to see my cute sex kitten getting verbally bashed like that.  I was so lucky she didn't have any ID, cause I seriously suspected she was under 18 .  And 2 other guys in the same building were caught banging under 18 girls, they're in deep shit .

After we cooperated they completely changed their tone and became normal people again , so like I said just a show to scare you.  And the cops asked if I paid yet, and made me pay up to the girl, the cop kinda had sympathy for the girl and said it's hard earned money.  Then another supposedly nice guy cop took me down the hotel lobby and told me the process, what's going to happen next, etc.  And another young punter was with me, he was laughing that he got caught while shooting his load on the chick , they forgot to lock the door and the police just walked right in , no need to get evidence.  The cops also caught a bunch of girls not working at the time, but still rounded them up with the rest, plus the other 2 guys who were in trouble fuxking under 18s .  That group went out the hotel to face the media crowd, and were hurdled into some big van.  

After the media circus left, the nice cop said it's safe to walk out and took us to his private car.  Drove us back to the station in MK and we gave our records of the incident.  The nice cop's role was to get all friendly and seem like on our side, he said he punts all the time too but only in China, and it's human nature to punt, even if your wife was a hot movie star you'd get bored eventually, etc things like that .  But his motive was mainly to get us to tell everything, every little detail about hotel girls, the website, the process of arranging the punt, etc.  The whole process went from 7pm-11:30pm , freaking wasted a whole night , cops did say we can buy dinner but I had to go home for dinner cause my wife was waiting .  My excuse to the wife was that I got involved in a traffic accident while taking a taxi .

I suspect the police learned the room numbers from the pimps. So I think that's enough evidence.

You didn't rent the hotel for her, so I don't think there is enough evidence to convict you for harboring illegal immigrant

According to my ex-police punting friend, these raids are not serious attempts to clean up the city but just for show to demonstrate to the press and the public that Hong Kong's finest are on the ball and protecting the public from vice and wickedness.  His guess is that it will all blow over in a couple of days and things will be back to normal again.

So no punters were actually arrested according to those reports...

Prostitution in HK is totally legal in a 1 on 1 private context (ie walk ups) so I don't think there would be any trouble from the police unless you gave some to them. By rounding up illegals and getting the press cameras they are achieving their aims without having to take any further action.

Honest all the way, cause I'm not looking for trouble from the cops.  The cops told me they can't arrest me for punting, but they can charge me for not cooperating and other stuff.  So it's totally in our best interest to cooperate with the authorities when caught.

Also the cops told me the guys that get caught fuxking the under 18s will have to attend court, and will likely get community service time + fines.  But the whole process is private and they will not involve your family members or let your family know.  Unless you wife starts opening your mail as well, cause court notices will come in the mail.

Um, if I am correct I think you can get arrested over the border too.  There are raids there as well.

curious about the raid vid, why do LE is wearing surgical face mask?  Smell of condoms bother them?

Heard from two HGs that there were raids in Shenzhen and Dongguan yesterday as well. Coincidence or concerted effort?

If it's not one of the two hotels that got busted, then which hotel ?  As I recall, there was a rule about not printing the name of the hotels in HK because of security.  I don't know if these this holds and still applies because of the raid.

You can be jailed for 6 months without a trial, fined but that is the worst case and highly unlikely it will happen in China.

As long as you are not with an under 16 girl, you are fine legally.

If the police asks you for ID, you have to show them. Otherwise, you are breaking the law.

Beyond these, I don't know what else you are obliged to tell the police or do you legally obliged to be a witness.

I am sure some lawyer mongers can help us on this
