Pearl River Necklace

The proposed Pearl River Necklace twists as it crosses the water, keeping drivers on the 'right' side of the road between Hong Kong and China.

The bridge is part of a competition for a new border-crossing facility between Hong Kong and mainland China.

I am not an engineer but think this is a stupid design. How will ships or boats be able to cross underneath the bridge without zigzagging back and forth?

I can't tell if that's a joke or not, but what you see in the pictures is only part of the bridge/tunnel system.  There is a long tunnel that ships can pass over.

Anyway, this design was not the one chosen.

the building of this bridge will be very very big effect to HK. which means HK, SZ and Chuhai will be in a loop closely.

This is definitely not the HK to Macau, Zhuhai bridge. It's either some bridge linking Doumen to some other part of the Pearl River Delta or even the proposed Zhongshan to Shenzhen bridge. Those sharp turns going down slope in the picture look very dangerous.
