#1 Post at 7-6-2010 11:40  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L SKYPE on iPone now available over 3G and 2G networks Have downloaded the update of the iPone SKYPE application over the weekend and for the first time I can call anyone on SKYPE using 2G and 3G and the connection was surprisingly good. For SKYPE Plus where you dial landlines the reception was good on 3G but kept on breaking up when using 2G. The application is still free to use until August 10th when I think SKYPE will start charging a monthly fee for this service.

Just imagine everyone doing this... AT&T better upgrade their 3g network to support this. But for now, it's working great.

In China with a 3G network it works flawlessly. Another update of the SKYPE app will be out on August 10th and this will improve the performance over 2G networks but then the new version would not be free.
