Planning a trip to Manila and AC. But after brief research, there is not much difference between bangkok and manila, price is about same even higher in Manila. Only good part is girls can speak good english compared to thai girls.

Any points I am missing here?

1.) Where are you based? Is ease of getting there a question? Cost of travel?
2.) Overall costs a wash? Hotel? Food? Transport?
3.) Things to do other than punting?
4.) What do you look for in punting? The bar scene? Agencies?
Etc.

Having just come from Bangkok, I agree that language is a big deal. I didn't have that much of a problem and most girls are quick to grab their phones and open a translator app.

I guess you can view the differences as large or small (how long is a piece of string?) depending on who you are.

For me, differences are as follows -

- Bangkok has a lot more variety in terms of venues.  A lot more gogos, soapies, gclubs (ie ktvs), etc.  Manila has enough I guess, particularly if you are just visiting, though.
- English helps a lot when trying to get a good gfe/llt experience, if that is your thing.  If you are very transactional and only choose to spend a couple hours with a girl, then language isnt important
- Costs are similar.  You can spend a lot or a little in either place.
- Much better tourism in Bangkok, and food is generally better
- And for the taboo subject... bareback is easier to find in Manila if thats your thing and you are willing to roll the dice with your health

I am planning a stopover for few days either in bkk or manila. All cost looks about same. Never visit Philipines before but multiple times in Bkk and Pattaya. The only concern for Manila I have is regarding safety. If there is no obvious advantage in Manila, I might just go to bkk for some certainty.

Defintely not looking for bbfs but gfe is a must for me. I know google translate helps a lot but still I prefer talking than typing, which right now is the only edge Manila has for me?

Go to BKK and save time if you are going to Manila for first time

Thai woman to me are good looking that Filipino's , and there is a straight competition among girls in Thailand than Phil

If language is a problem, then go to Philli as they speak English.  And also, I would go to AC not Manila.  Manila is overpriced and since safety is your concern, AC is safer.

AC, at the moment is full of Koreans and they now own many bars, hotels, restaurants....but, anyways, try something new.

For familiarity, go to BKK where you have been before and know the ropes

If you are looking for gfe, then go to either AC or Manila, depending on budget.  Be aware that AC is generally a dump but Manila has some nice areas (BGC) where you can stay.  I find it impossible to connect with Thai girls due to language.

Once upon a time, Manila might be considered over Bangkok for low cost of mongering.  But it's now about the same.

Bangkok/Thailand and its not even close.
Philippines is only convenient for one thing... they speak english.

Sorry, but I disagree. Everything is more expensive in the Philippines. Hotels are especially expensive, food is cheap-ish but the portions are tiny, girls are always trying to haggle for way more money. Lots of tourist traps with "dollar rates" meaning American prices for less quality or service.

Having said that, go to Manila if you want a GF-like experience. ST is short time and good for a pop or two. LT is much longer, and you could take her away from work and get a girl to go with you for days or even weeks. Yes they live boring lives and have nothing interesting to talk about, but at least they speak good enough English. You can probably talk about the most mainstream movies. Don't keep contact after you've left the country because the girl will constantly bug you for money with a long list of sob stories.

I've never done a long stint with a Thai girl, but that's mainly because I can't have a conversation with them.

Even if you forget about sex tourism, Thailand has way more things to do and to see.

The one thing that Manila has over Bangkok for sure is that there is gambling. But there are a lot of people running to Manila, in order to lay low while the world is going bonkers.
